Season of mastery 2

How to make som 2 a great success. balance classes/specs. have paly n sham available to both factions. have in-game group finder to queue for dungeons. have normal and heroic (as is and som 1) levels for raids. do so, and you will have many people playing som 2 for the entire year.

The Void Elf Hunter drops his opinion on a game that doesn’t have Void Elf hunters! LOL

Lets not go here… Classic Era is more “balanced” than any other existing version of WoW being hosted by Blizzard right now.

The ONLY outlier spec is Fury warrior and that is because 1 bug + rage scaling being broken AF.

I think it will need to be vanilla+ or tbc+. Either way I would just say, if it is vanilla there is alot of qol to be done we could have the wrath/tbc holiday events with bosses which have limited tme items. I mean if we do vanilla plus as som2 I believe keeping vanilla talents would be a mistake as most specs would still have to be healers. Regardless heroic raids are not enough to keep long term interest, a change in talents thus gameplay might be more lasting.

if the changes make it non-vanilla im unsubbing

Incredibly naive to think this can be done. I played as both a progression raider and PVP enjoyer for pretty close to 7ish years straight and they never once accomplished this supposedly simple thing.

Those retail things people think are so great don’t keep people subscribed. People play Classic like a bad habit and it doesn’t have any of that, maybe Blizzard screwed up along the way by diverging from their original success.

the ONLY viable spec changes are increased mana regen for spriest/ret/boom - anything beyond that ruins vanilla

How would you feel about fixing heroic strike queueing? Not being inflammatory with that, genuinely. There is a massive power gain here, but it’s also an expression of game knowledge people can actually enjoy and not just do for min-max. So I’m always torn up about how to feel about it.

Edit: responding to sanch

Why you want shams for both factions but not paladins? Seems like someone is playing favourites against paladins once again… as if I’m surprised. I see that a lot.

It shouldnt be. Just a bunch of retcon crap. Blizz should have added the other race of dwarves in by now. And Taunka instead of High Mountains.

Not that I want changes for classic era cause I don’t but saying this is the most balanced wow has ever been is just delusional.

Prot pal, Ret, Ele sham, enhance, feral, boomkin. All have different opinions haha

That’s really only going by the idea that Raids is where balance needs to be. A Moonkin can solo things in the overworld with no gear that other classes can’t until they get overgeared, just as an example.

Right now, I’m in dungeon gear and blue pvp gear, and I’m having fun soloing Scholo/Strat/LBRS in a smite priest build. Only a couple of bosses are possible, but I can get dark runes, argent dawn turn ins, tons of runecloth, rare recipes, 0.5 pieces for guildies and so much more.

Yet in a raid I’d absolutely be a carry for the fury warrs, who can’t solo this in dungeon blues.

I want to be very clear this is regarding presently hosted by Blizzard versions of WoW, so its not including say for example MoP.

Select an expansion presently hosted by Blizzard and there are going to be class / specs that are straight up useless.

Example: In Wrath Resto Druid is pointless, there is zero good reason to bring one unless you like the druid and want to carry.

Yeah melee dps only being rogues and warriors and only warriors being able to tank is peak balance.

You really posted this while WOTLK classic is up and every tank class can tank and multiple melee and ranged dps options exist.

Stick to classic era or hardcore then.

We already got som1 that wasnt popular cause not enough changes

I sure did, and kinda makes me wonder about you because Wrath is in a strange way worse… If you dont bring paladin tanks everyone will think you are trolling. And while other tanks work to a far lessor degree the same is true in Classic, if you have a paladin tank outside of a few odd exceptions the players will think you are trolling… Meanwhile Warriors and Bears are BiS in Vanilla in case you did not know Bear is good.

Bears are good tanks in Classic.

Yep, perfect illustration of how the average WoW player thinks which is usually not much more than group think at the end of the day. When WotLK was retail most guilds including mine cleared all the content with the tanks we had and it was fine.

this retail thinking is disgusting. rdf and multiple difficulties are terribad for vanilla. should really hold blizzard to higher expectations
