Era still exists if you want 40 player content.
Can i have a refund?
Hi @aggrend
Two things that I think are what you’re looking for, 1 a little more outlandish than the other.
PvP rep - with so many alts, speed of phase progress and event participation shifting, I think pvp rep should be given more generously like what you’re doing with exp now. As this is the 3rd-4th iteration of wow classic, a lot of us just can’t grind out this rep anymore at the old rate without eye bleeds.
Warrior plug - if warlocks get meta, melee hunters are a thing, do something crazy and give warriors wait for it drumroll please DW SHIELDS!!! This could totally be doable and mad and game changing in beautiful sod spirit ways. Please consider it!
Best,
Kekbane
No but you can have deez nutz
I’m sure there’s some crossover between retail players and Classic players, but there may very well be a large population who have not played retail or who don’t like retail. For me, when I fired up retail after 10 years away, the game was unrecognizable and I hated it.
Anyway, my point being that drawing comparisons between what people tolerate in one game and what people tolerate in another is largely irrelevant. It’s like saying people in California pay 13% income tax, so it’s fine for Alabama to raise their income tax from 5% to 13% next quarter. They are different states with different populations.
I’d also add that there is no ramp-up to this sudden “drastically different game design” (I’m not calling it difficulty) that they’re injecting into SoD. Again, I haven’t played retail because I find it awful, but I’m going to go out on a limb and you don’t just go straight from solo questing into whatever “hardmode” stuff exists on retail (mythic?). There’s likely some kind of things in between that, right? And, some way to gauge if someone has gone through the “easier” stuff…
What do we have in SoD? Straight from SFK with Classic/Era mechanics to BFD with mechanics that are… well, pretty out of place at level 25. Again, not saying it’s hard, just that it’s… jarring… and with the raid lockout, it was quite frustrating as a pugger with many failed raids (at first) and nothing else to do but level alts for 3 days.
If you have a guild and you primarily raid as a guild, your experiences will be very different to mine. BFD didn’t become pug-friendly until they nerfed some of it and there were enough experienced/geared people basically carrying groups… but even then, the comp requirements were very strict and many raid leaders were gatekeeping (i.e. checking logs, etc). It’s early yet on Gnomer, but my initial experience is that the mechanics are over the top and it’s not fun (again, for ME, because I don’t like the "lets just have a bunch of phases with a bunch of crap flying all over the place game design). There are very, very few people pugging Gnomer on my server, and it’s usually just people wanting healers… because nobody wants to heal insanity raid damage in Classic… because it’s a chill game, not a frantic game.
And what about those 10-15 grays that want to feel part of something epic? Won’t anyone think about the warm bodies?
I would like to see a compromise between the “I’m gonna quit if 40 mans!” crosses arms and stomps feet and the “I’m gonna quit if not 40 mans!” crosses arms and stomps feet crowds.
The 10s have been good for the temporary level stops, and a 20 MC seems on point to help guild start ramping up - most can just instantly merge their two 10 mans and roll in there immediately. So far this all seems like it’s already been one sided affair in favor of the no 40 mans. And I’m good with that.
The only one I want to see remain 40 personally is Naxx. But would be good with a couple more to help even out the compromise between the number of 40 man vs non 40 man, and to help guilds get their roster ready for Naxx.
hahaha when have you ever seen them do that? You will get that right about the time banks start charging fair interest rates on loans…
Now that is something they need to look into. Bring in the 5% buff for wearing strictly your classes armor type in all slots. I’m enhancement and the best in slot for Gnomer is the rogues set gear makes no sense.
The amount of retail cry babies on this thread is amazing. I’m sorry your friend group of 6 won’t be able to raid MC or BWL by yourselves, god forbid you have to actually play with other people. But maybe you guys are on to something, we should technically be able to solo or duo these raids if that’s what we want to do, this IS season of discovery after all
So you’re saying a 20 man raid is soloing the raid?
Interesting take…
There’s dozens of posts on this thread of people threatening to quit because they might not continue with 10 mans, go read a little
It’s clear they want to finish up SoD so they can release a full-fledged classic+. jk jk
So a 10 man raid is soloing the raid?

10 people is closer to 1 than 40, nice try
Most of the discovering has been done throuvh datamining. They are just trying to give people an opportunity to play a new spec at phase level cap without having to no life the grind. Sod is not classic, and is not retail, it is a seasonal event in which time is valuable since it is limited by the short lifespan expectancy
20 man is the way, any other answer is a lie.
cool, can we get a fresh era server?
Hmm.
10-1 = 9.
40-1 = 39.
By God, you’re right.
Pretty sure 10 isn’t equal to 1 though. I might have to double check that.
