My performance is just fine relative to the length of time our kills take. Thanks. If you want to say that rogues aren’t required for P2 raiding, then yeah you have a point. You should take that up with Blizzard.
I agree, we have so many new specs for classes it would be amazing to have a dual spec option without anything to “lock” it. Flex would also be nice for people who aren’t in the bigger guilds and it will cut down on the amount of guilds needing to merge if all the raids are of bigger size.
First time posting on the forum because it seems like y’all actually read these:
Played casually on release as a teenager, then played in a hard core raiding guild in 2019, now back again in a much more casual “play with friends but still check my raid parses to get better” mindset so I feel like I have approached this game from most angles.
Love most of the changes, I am one of the tens of thousands who hasn’t hit 40 yet so appreciate the leveling boost. Not sure how I feel about MC going to 20 man, I feel like 40 man raids were such a big part of the classic experience so I do hope you keep a few around but it sounded like you intend to.
Here is my SoD wishlist:
- Dual spec- with all the new runes in SoD it is very fun to play around but as a player you are constantly pressured into conforming to the meta by other players. In P1 I prided myself on my own tank warlock spec that I drew up (and parsed purple with) and had to be annoyed by players pressuring me to do the destro meta for raids. I think that dual spec will allow people to have more freedom to explore the new opportunities with no foreseeable downside, heck might even see a healing mage for once.
- 10 Man Raids at 60- I am far from one of the players saying “no 40 mans at 60” I believe the opposite, that they are a defining part of classic and must remain a part of the experience- that being said I love the new 10 mans you guys have added and I hope you make or revamp some 10 mans at lvl 60. Could also do 10/20 or 10/25 versions of the same raid like wotlk.
- Karazan- speaking of 10 man raids at 60, Karazan would be pretty sweet… (I also missed BC classic so I miss it dearly and think it would be a lot of fun with the new runes)
- Arena- I understand that class balance is probably out of control with runes, I would be 100% fine with 0 gear associated with it and just titles/ranking. Arena is the biggest reason my friends preferred BC/WOTLK to classic and I have always wondered what lvl 60 would have been like with arena.
- Tree form druid rune- please… even if its just cosmetic haha
Other than that just minor class tuning gripes, and the wish for more mailboxes/flight paths. Love the game, love the 3 day lockouts, keep up the good work!
Oh yeah, last thing I remembered- giving the epic goggles to tailoring instead of engineering… really? Lol
Im not sure i completely understand, but Ive done a lot of pugs and guild raiding of all difficulties in retail. The standards set by pugs are set for a reason, its easier to clear and those without those standards struggle. Having less knowledge or gear is more acceptable for joining a guild because its expected youll stay and learn and theyll help gear you, and youll be part of the team and mesh with them. If im making a pug and im decked in mythic raiding gear, im inviting similar people since the coordination is a lot easier if everyone knows what to do. Nobody joining pugs wants to progress everytime and thats ensureable by wanting geared and experienced people. Progression is for guilds.
Also, please don’t rush the seasons due to powergamers clearing gnomer week 1- let em level alts. I thought length of first season was perfect. Wording that this “mid point of the season” was worrying.
What I mean is because Retail has ways (LFR specifically) to bypass someone demanding a ‘high standard’, those same people have to lower their standards or not fill the raid.
Classic doesn’t have that. You want to raid? You reach the standards of the person forming the raid or you don’t go.
Why are you removing 10 man raids, sod promised us a more casual raiding and then you go to 20 man raid, my guild is already back tracking not to play
Please no more forced world PvP on PvE realms, and offer some better itemization for ranged hunters!
I dont know if id call them the smartest. They are mostly just trying to power level to end phase content.
Not everyone who runs gnomer logs.
TBH the xp buff is super retail. Why would you dismiss the leveling journey that is completely classic? You want to fly to max level without the effort, that’s called retail. You want to discover end game content asap, that’s called retail. You want your mount without putting in the work, that’s retail. So what am I supposed to be out there discovering? The raid…RETAIL!
Half your raid will be rolling on leather as is.
Blizzard has always maintained that the leveling process is the tutorial. The game starts at max level.
@Aggrend
The biggest concern for me so far is how much damage everyone does compared to their health. PvP is trading one shots for most classes and for a few it’s just taking one shots. I know this is a tough problem to solve, but are you guys looking further into this? Trading one shots is not fun. Unkillable healers is also not fun. There has to be a way to hit that middle ground.
Hello Blizzard. Some feedback from a long time Classic fan.
I’ve played since 2005 all the way to DF. HC, Classic, Wotlk Classic with only a few breaks off an on throughout the years.
For feedback, I don’t think fast tracking players past content to max level each phase will improve on players experiences. The challenge to get to max level each phase is what makes the reward of hitting the cap so important. To get there with 100% XP buff means out leveling zones and bypassing huge chunks of the game. This is exactly why retail has a hard time bringing in new players. I’ve never been a huge Alt person. I like investing my time in 1 character akin to old school RPGs. Having an army of alts just doesn’t appeal to me and breaks the immersion. I see why people with Alts will like these challenges but for me it’s the journey, not the destination.
Secondly, the extra gold for quests is sending mixed signals about your decision to ban GDKP. Again, if you are handed gold without earning it, it loses its value. There is no need to have more gold. Since banning GDKP the need for gold has decreased considerably.
I do like the idea of not giving extra gold at 40 though, that should encourage players to quest more rather than dungeon grind.
Lastly, raid size. I’m not as opinionated on this one, I like WOTLKs 25 man raids. That has always felt just right for me.
In summary, the idea of being a custodian of the game means respecting the spirit in which the original was created and honoring it. I get this is a sandbox experiment so have at it, but my perception so far is that your team is constantly making iterations and changes so it’s hard for players to get a foothold. XP boosts and fast track to max level goes counter the original spirit of the game but I have perma rose colored glasses on.
The constant buff, nerf, nuke is frustrating. Yes PvP is a driver with a loud vocal minority to balance everything but it’s not something that is attainable IMO. Add content but don’t change the existing experience.
This XP buff removes the tutorial aspect. You don’t learn anything if you zip through the levels faster than you can apply the skills you learned. Then you hit the cap and are stuck with a bunch of abilities and no experience on how they are meant to be used effectively.
I shocked a hunter by showing them how to kite a mob with simple strafing and low-ranked Arcane Shot / Distracting Shot spam. A fundamental skill useful for hunters to have, and they didn’t know you could. Another group was amazed when I showed them how hunters can be amazing pullers. With a 41yd range (talented), a trap, and feign death, I can tag mobs before you face pull, CC them into position, and then dump all the threat immediately when the tank does their AoE ability.
Phase 1 was 10 weeks. March 5th is 5 weeks into phase 2
This may have been true 10 years ago, but unless someone is 70 years old and playing an MMO for the first time in their life, I sincerely doubt a player didnt know how to strafe in a game. If a player hasnt picked up certain nuances of their class on their journey to max level, why do you feel that more time spent leveling would solve that?
why no dual spec
