Today I learned playing a game with 19 friends is playing alone…
i want 40 man raids
there. you have been proven wrong
apologize.
Any information about removing Dishonorable kill? Pvp is Bad rn, let us raid cities without caring about DHK anymore…
Make the easy to pug raids 40 man for a hint of nostalgia or toe in the water Maybe like ony and MC. 20 man raids are the best, you get full buffs, get to know the players, and still have some flex or overlapping spots.
I like the idea of an easy 40m raid, but I think even 20 people is too much to really get to know your group. Humans can barely remember more than 30 people at a time in general, so 20 of those being your raid team seems unrealistic. I hope we get 10man raids still tbh.
posting on sod main ofc, keep 10m raids pls
As a relative newcomer to SoD, with a small group of friends I want to be able to play with consistently, the news that there’s (at least a CHANCE) that 40 mans will be scaled down to 20 is SO GOOD. I have zero interest in trying to join a 40 man raid guild, that’s just way too many people to play the game with in my opinion.
I will say, I think setting the next leveling raid and MC to 20 mans is a great move; however, maybe the next leveling raid can be scaled to a 10 man raid after it’s no longer the “end game” raid (so Phase 4?), to allow for easy pugging and leveling similar to how BFD is currently.
Anyway, I really hope you push forward and keep scaling raids from 40 → 20 (and heck, if I had it my way, I’d love to see them scaled to 10 player instead). There’s a reason we moved away from that design in the very next instance of the game; 40 players is just way too many to coordinate and play with. 10 man raids are easy to fill for even small time guilds, allows for a more cohesive group to play with, and isn’t horrific to fill up if you have a player or two out for the evening and want to continue your raid night.
Feedback:
-
Allow 10-man raids to enter dungeons that are higher-level than the current phases. Example: Allow a 10-man raid to enter ZF in phase 2. It is still a dungeon, and has the same dungeon mechanics, so nothing changes. This way, we can complete some quests that are available to us, but not very attainable.
-
Add Karazahn at some point as a raid. I know it is TBC, but it is not in Outland.
-
Add the Culling of Strat as a dungeon even though it is in Wrath. It is not in Northrend.
Great changes can you please do something about furious thunder not removing the cap on 4 targets? why not have it be up to 4 and lower the damage by 50% past that we just want to be able to hold threat in case it gets to hectic
God I wish they already added scourge invasions would make SFK seem so interesting too with the abomination in there
I didn’t think anybody would be reading this deep in the thread!
First let me just say that SoD has been a lot of fun thus far and we all appreciate how hard you guys are all working giving us this newly revamped version of wow.
As a wow player for 10+ years, mostly vanilla and tbc. Leading a guild and being apart of a hardcore raid team. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say the following should be changed at level 60.
Make world buffs inactive while inside the raids. Players should see their hard work rewarded in the meters and logs by the amount of time they put into their gear/character and not by running around collecting buffs, or trying to while the opposite faction is camping dmf waiting to kill you. Losing world buffs or simply not being able to get them makes coming to the raid demoralizing for a majority or raiders.
Reducing the end game raid size to 20(or even 10, but make the content challenging). Although 40 man raiding is nostalgic to classic wow, 99% of guilds do not want to go through this again. Recruiting and maintaining 40 people to show up once or twice a week is like job in its own and leaves everyone feeling overwhelmed instead of enjoying the raids.
This last suggestion is a little far fetched but throwing it out there because I’m an arena junkie. Add arena and resilience gear! <3
I know all this is easier said than done but thanks for all the hard work thus far blizzard.
Hello, my name is bumfroot. I run a top tier guild called Bhuja Mix. On behalf of our pro guild I request that you make the raids 10 man. Because we are so elite, we keep our circle small and therefore we only have 8 players so a 10 man is good. But 20 man no way. That would mean we would have to pug 12 people. 1 pug, ok, 2 pug eh but still ok, 3 pug?! hmmmmm. BUT 12 PUG!!! cumon
I was actually thinking about dropping 1 or two of my alts (tank and a healer) but with this I may level them up slowly as for mount pricing well darn I already bought mounts ony my level 40 characters is there any plans to reemburish some gold to those people who bought the mount already?
Can search the same name in Classic log under WLK log for your so called “2 years ago” Classic. BTW I was running MC in 2020 anyway.
Oh the gold time passed so quickly, didn’t it.
since you asked and 'Yeah?'ed, now I know your greeny GNO records as well.
your performance is absolutely CORE to your team. Good for you. Understandable you want 40 ppl back, so they can cover your benchy performance up.
Keep Molten Core 40man, please. People will find a way to fill raids just as they did in 2005 and 2019.
Seems pretty good. Sucks I just bought my alt a mount. Just got burnt for playing more.
20 man raids is a good compromise!
I resubbed because you can’t post without an active sub even if you have game time left apparently but here’s my feedback.
I, and my guild of about 20 people, are devestated by this news. With SoD throwing in 10m, we were able to form a casual band of friends from all eras of our retail wow experience. Most of us had 3 to 4 alts. We did 4 BFDs every 3 days and were working on getting alts to 40 to start doing it in Gnomer. We hardly ever had everyone on and we didn’t push any attendance requirements. We fufilled all our wants and desires in the game, in house, and we didn’t have to push people into commitment.
Today was the first day since early phase 1 that almost no one logged in.
Blizzard, I do not want to game with strangers for my characters core progression. No, I will not game with strangers for my characters core progression. Dungeons and quests are fine but when commitment enters the equation, I do not want to rely on recruitment and chat channel interactions.
Let me be clear - I don’t care about the classic experience. I don’t care what core values you think certain aspects have. All I care about is what SoD was to us and that you are taking that away without any real need to do so. With SoDs popularity, there’s no reason you couldn’t have expanded the team and supported both 40 and 10m raids in the same manner you currently are and I’m tired of hearing about “scope” on every thing you want an easy cop out for.
I’d like to think I speak for people who aren’t going to be willing to come out and feed themselves to the toxic, loud mouth, “classic enjoyers” who dominate every conversation with their narratives. I’d like to think this is a big mistake. Still, Im probably wrong and I won’t be missed but damn you guys for this. I was really enjoying this game and so were my friends.
I think (or hope) the xp buff will help the pug raiding scene greatly. I have been completely unable to find a pug for gnomer while it was extraordinairly easy to find a pug for BFD in phase one as a dps.
