These changes are amazing. If you guys could take a look at some of the lesser selected professions next like the gathering professions. The new potion for alchemy is also impossible to use for tanks and very risky for dps to use because of the massive 100% damage taken increase for the duration. If this debuff could be altered to something less taxing it would be an excellent item for tank shamans.
As an old school vanilla player I always liked the way things were, even the inconvenient things. There were some things that were so inconvenient that even I love to see being tweaked, particularly a bunch of specs that were useless now becoming viable, and the addition of gear to support that. That might be my favorite thing about SoD. The Runes are a neat idea, but after a week theyāre all solved and posted online, which feels like a bit of a chore.
I want to acknowledge, the Runes and the things like the sleeping bag quest do feel like a fun attempt to recreate the old days, where DISCOVERY was the most fun part of playing the game. But the internet and the race to be the first one to do everything has ruined that. I am old enough to know Iām never, ever, going to be the first one to discover these things and will just be looking it up online after a few weeks of each phase, which I donāt like doing but if I DONāT do that then Iām quite frankly not going to find a raid group who wants me because I donāt have all the best stuff, yet at the same time Iām well aware that itās as easy as a google search to find and get those things, so Iām considered lazy and bad if I donāt. But for some of us, we didnāt find those things because weāre just trying to ādiscoverā the gameā¦ but these days youāre always behind and itās detrimental to you unless youāre on top of the current BiS.
One more thing, I totally understand 20 man MCā¦ but would really prefer thereās at least a 40 man option, as well as a 40 man option for BWL Naxx and AQ40, even if they donāt offer better loot, I just think itās important to honor and offer those original versions of the raid.
Please keep 40 man raids for a lot of the classic raids! (whatās done is done for MC, but please keep the others as 40 mans) They are so iconic and awesome and itās just so much more badass to go in there with 40 people! I know classic SoD is supposed to cater to more than just the classic community, but as someone who loves classic and came to season of discovery looking for a classic + experienceā¦ removing 40 man raids would be such a bummer. Iād play either way but I LOVE the HYPE and the intensity and craziness of going in there with 40 people and fighting big badass bosses! ZG, AQ 20, UBRS(10man) were not nearly as hype and eliciting excitement as 40 man raids. Iāve never posted before, and I really hope you do come out with some Polling or voting system for SoD at some point but in the meantime I just wanted to post how important this is at least to me. 40 man raids are awesome!!!
a large group of players, myself included, are enjoying the ten man group content. the days of 40 man, multi day raids arenāt attractive or doable for alot of players. much rather play through all the content SOD offers with some close friends who are experienced players than struggle in a raid full of randoms in TODAYs player baseā¦makes it very similar to a chore or job to play the game. for all those steady posting SOD is about the classic experience, no its not. the classic servers were in place for that exact reason. this does not exist to be a carbon copy of the classic servers that were played in mass in 2019-2020 . no hate just sayin a ton of players are likeminded and see no reason to change the system thats already working and is enjoyable every time.
Ashenvale pvp is dead. The only thing you need to do to get people back in there is give WSG rep to exalted.
I would like to suggest having a 10 man option for the raids also. Everyone has trouble with the roster boss unless you have a giant guild. Not everyone has or wants to be part of a giant guild. Would be nice to have a 10 man option so that small guilds that are raiding in P1 and P2 arenāt left to either pug or not raid in the later phases. Thanks!
Thank you for the exp buff
I think that for Warlock tanks to be viable in BWL and MC, the fire immunity of most of the mobs needs to be addressed. Maybe this is by making lock fire damage shadowflame while in meta as has been suggested? It would be great to hear from Blizz if they have started to consider this.
as someone who has been playing wow off and on for about 20 years now (played WAY more in vanilla - wrath then came back for all the classic launches. the things i really want right now are duel spec, i want to be able to just switch at will from disc priest for raids to shadow for running around and having fun in pvp or questing. i think having 40 mans as an OPTION is great for those who want it, i personally HATE 40 mans but if its simply an option that doesnt effect teh 10/20man lock outs and its something i can choose to engage with then im fine with it.
as far as raid mechanics go, i think BFD was more the speed they should be, gnomer is right on the edgeā¦gnomer is impossible to pug, my luck pugging it has been absolute dog doodoo, people who tend to pug tend to be completely brain dead and cannot understand simple mechanics no matter how many times they watch the guides or no matter how much in detail you go in explaining them.
please feel free to add quest hubs to the higher level zones that are practically empty.
adding weekly or daily quests to go back and do raids that are phased out would be cool and add unique reqards or currecy you can spend on current level cap gear tokens or gear. think a weekly that sends you back to bfd or gnomer, a daily that sends you back to a dungeon like dead mines or RFK but all the mobs in the dungeon have their levels tuned to the current level cap
This sounds great. Looking forward to it.
bye felicia
How about a system in the future where only alts get a leveling boost? It could have been in phase 2, level to 40 one time at the normal pace (keep the 1 to 25 catch-up buff, whatever), then after that you unlock an account-wide buff for all alts to get an optional 100% bonus xp. Phase 3, level to 50 normally once, unlock an account-wide buff for all alts to get an optional 100% xp. Its just an easily understandable system that way and not just Blizz manually changing the buff on a whim.
The leveling is a huge part of the vanilla gameās content, but unlocking an xp buff only for alts is just a good way to drive people to play more characters. I hope leveling your main from 40-50 and 50-60 doesnāt have the buff.
Please no 20 man raids. Thats too many people. I wont play that
I hope they make all raids soloable, i just personally like that more and hope they change the game for me in that way I can only play 20 minutes a week, we need this change.
20 mans are in retail, anyone is more than welcome to go thereā¦ Retail even has new contentā¦
Guess what CLASSIC isnt supposed to be for retail people!
/bump bump bump bump
then go play era duder. classic also didnāt have ability runes, BFD raid , mage healer lock tanks etc you get the gist
I think one thing they could do is make the boss prioritize players using AOE first, with a stacking respawn timer on the Chained Ghosts if you got killed by the boss because you used an AOE. I think thatād curb some of the lag weāre seeing from the AOE blood farming at blood turn-ins.
You are joking right? there is a metric ton of quests to do 25-40ā¦ And gold has never been easier to come byā¦
What kinda backwards world do you live in?
Firstly, thank you for you and your teams time and effort in SoD thus far and going forward.
With regard to changes wanted in the future, many have displayed concern with Black Lotus. I for one, enjoyed a % drop chance on high level herbs (Plaguebloom, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage) and felt it was just enough to provide a casual player weekly consumables material.
The 20 man MC is a solid choice. Our guild was split running MC at a point to maximize binding farm.
One aspect of SoD that I feel many will agree with me on, is the instant damaging abilities being somewhat unbalanced in PvP scenarios. Boomkin and Spriest come to mind. As an Ele Sham main, proc based instant cast are definitely a viable option for these other classes to help even the playing field more.
Lastly (Paladins back me up) if a +int to shield enchant could be introduced, that would be swell.
Thank you again for your hard work and I look forward to what is to come.
