Not surprised by 20 and 40 man raids, but disappointed in the outcome. My guild will not be continuing into the next phase. We agreed to raid together as along as there were 10 man options. Running a 40 man raiding guild is a full time job, which I have no interest/time for anymore. Even running a 20 man guild is a lot of effort.
We’ve been doing sign-ups for 10 mans, which has been great as no one feels the pressure of committing to a raid team. 10 mans are easy to organize and fill for, and are just a great social experience for my community. Going to a 20 man format would mean we would have to go back to formalizing raid teams, which no one in my community wants (especially me as the GM). And aint to way in hell I’m organizing 40 man raids again.
I’d considering pugging future phases if GDKPs were not banned, but they are. Doing 40 man SR raids are awful. Chances are you aren’t getting loot and are just wasting your time. At least in a GDKP you get a payout for your time. And the quality of GDKP raids have been much better than SR raids. Going to 40 man raids without GDKPs is a huge mistake.
I personally wish that all existing level 60 raids were inaccessible in SoD, and that Blizzard would just release 2-3 new 10 man raids at 60, released 2 months apart.
SoD has been a big W so far, but this news is a big L.

Oh boo hoo, how dare Blizzard try and cater to the majority of SoD players. Go play Era if you want 40 man raids.

10 man raid size is alright
15 man raid size is probably perfect (imo)
20 man raid size is a stretch but I would still play
20 man my guild would quit
I think you’ve totally missed the issues with 40 man raids and are pandering to some lost nostalgia about epic raids - you can go play classic era servers (legit was just a thing) to get that “epic raid” — to me it’s just a cumbersome lag infested personality spread mess. The reality is trying to grow to 40man size would be annoying from 10, but it’s missing the issue where people just DO NOT want to manage/organize 40man raid sizes… they don’t want to deal with 39 other different personalities and opinions and complaints - need a legit HR department, like? People want to raid with their friends, and even in all my 40 man experiences, you rarely had >20 man you truly considered friends, they were plebs to meet the goal of completing the raid.
The reality is the classic peeps wanting 40 man raids will still play if its 10/20 man, but the other 50% that want nothing to do with >20 man raids will quit. You choose, I won’t be playing SOD once 40man raids are a thing and I think SOD has been the best most fresh iteration of any wow experience I’ve ever played.

Will there be compensation for the 100s of gold I’m out after the waylaid supply changes and multiple mount purchases?

So are we being compensated for everyone who spent all there gold on mounts early or are you just going to keep the hard earned gold we spent now that you lowered the price of mounts again???

This is bs. I worked hard to level up. Why should alts or new players get the retail treatment and fly through levels???

I think my biggest complaint, and a lot of other peoples’ biggest complaints, is that SoD gets updates and big explanatory posts like this, while retail PvP has been completely forgotten about. Zero communication.
Retail is dead. Tell them the game died with Arthas and to stay off sod forum.
@Aggrend are you guys going to give us gold back or what’s the deal?

the SoD team is doing so great honestly, i love the direction and pretty much every change you guys have done. love keeping 40 mans chill. love the content and gear improvements and accessibility additions are outta this world. thank you.
This is exactly what I’m saying. I’m absolutely broke from buying everything at pre nerf prices. Where my refunds at?!
Nah, it was built on Classic and advertised as Classic with some changes. Guarantee if they walked in up front saying “end game will be limited to 20 player raids” they don’t get the people who actually enjoy Classic to play. This was a bait and switch.
We already know what 20 player dungeons in Classic look like. We have ZG. It isn’t the same.

Please make sure all the gear has STAM. That’s all I would like.
Correct, it’s not the same. It’s better. And changes to Classic are coming. Thank god.
No! Next time don’t rush and take your time
Tell me you haven’t played ZG without telling me you haven’t played ZG. The dungeons aren’t on the same level. They aren’t even close.
Except they’re clearly making content harder. New Gnomer is harder than most 60 raids were mechanically.

What about those of us who do have communities, but they’re small and tight-knit? I and a group of friends struggled to keep our 25 man raid going after initial interest died down. We managed to get through Molten Core with 21 people and eventually had to resort to pugging randos who contributed nothing but bodies to our raid - no community, no chatter, only loot given away on a MS>OS basis and drama when a pug won over a community member.
Communities =/= 40 man raids.
If anything, give us both options. Then you can have you 40 man cat herding experience and I can raid with my friends without drama.
