And can we get some info on updated professions? Are we going to be doing one profession to rule them all? Or can we expect some balance to profs in the next phase? Engineering is only going to get sillier in the phases ahead.

They are objectively the correct choice (as is BM at the moment) because hunters are once again a one spec class. Use Chimaera, go OOM in about 15 seconds (once you have to take lion).

Use explosive and get laughed out of the room.

So its not a “use this because its broken OP” problem … its a “use this because this is all you got” problem.

I could be misunderstanding, so feel free to correct me here, but it sounds to me like you’re saying Hunters have one good spec, so they are using it, and that’s a problem.

My question is why shouldn’t pets be an objectively correct choice to tank something?

Maybe it’s something that doesn’t need explanation to other people, but I genuinely don’t see what the issue is with having hunter pets be a major part of the class’s gameplay.

Believe me, hunter mains also wouldnt be against this.

One boss being strong against casters seems like a fun strategic thing… why so many complaining because they cannot compete with damage? I am sure they have some bosses that are more resilient to physical damage and/or hard to get in melee with.

So mages are still gonna be oom 30 seconds into the fight. Great.

I honestly believe that hunters should be able to use their pets to tank things, that’s why we go into the BM tree and use BM runes. However, apparently some magical way, pets were being used to tank raid bosses - which apparently isn’t allowed by Blizzard.

It sounds like hunters were using growl (which is enhanced by the rune to be a 3 second guaranteed agro pull) and this … was a issue w/ the pet and not the rune design (braindead).

Right now - the issue is once again w/ having one viable option for damage in raids, bring back other options and you’ll see the BM issue fizzle out.

Great changes. I’m hoping that you also address the Serpent Spread + Chimera Shot bug with the bonus 40% damage.

Also very, very hopeful that you buff Lone Wolf so that I can play out my fantasy of being an archer in WoW without having to manage a pet. (Without feeling like my character is just plain terrible)

They’d have to fundamentally change the class. It’s just not happening. Mages will literally be the best class at 60 alongside warriors. It’s not the end of the world if they are B tier during the first phase

Mages already crush in PvP right now as well. They don’t need anymore help

Look again because all I see is 2h Warriors with the epic sword. I saw only one dual wield user out of the bunch so at this point I’ll have to consider his log good RNG which is proving my point, dual wield at low level is very RNG and mostly end up subpar. It’s nothing new to Vanilla anyway, dual wield on a Warrior isn’t effective until they get a good amount of hit and/or crit to compensate.

You’re missing the point and are also misinformed. The dual wield penalty affect both MH and OH when dual wielding but doesn’t affect special abilities.

It was more so the community naturally gatekeeping caster DPS from even being invited (mages being an exception because they bring Remove Lesser Curse).

I suppose you are right. They shouldn’t be doing imbalanced fights for the final boss of a dungeon.

Different quote being referenced. This one is in reference to the already standard hunter pet thing of being an off-tank in emergencies.

haha lets list some problems that blizzard seems not to verify or fix:

  • demon hunters are op in arenas
  • burst mechanics are completely impossible to avoid or mitigate(just tank and burst at the same time too);
  • arena inflation wrong, many glads and 2200+ players stucked at 1600
  • BM hunters still ridiculous easy to play, pet do all job(as in cata)
  • warlock struggling to cast and prevent melee damage(just look how many things dk has to avoid chaos bolt, like 9 stuffs)
  • rogues assa/out burst do 100% to 0 in 2 secs
  • I guess blizzard completely abandoned pvp community

This’d be true if the community wasn’t so insufferably gatekeepy and the difference between “strong against” and not wasn’t dealing like half damage because of something completely out of their control

Do note as well, bosses with high armor have several counters and armor reduction abilities already available, that’s not possible for casters right now, we get a single 10 pen item which isn’t even 1/5th of the resistances they have, meanwhile sunder and the priest’s homunculi buff are chunky armor reductions
