Pets aren’t OP in PvE, but I get what you’re saying. I don’t personally care about PvP at all, but I get that it is a balancing act. But here’s the thing, dropping hunter pet DPS by 10% won’t really make much difference to PvP, will it? PvP is all about short fights where burst is king. Yet, it makes a big difference in PvE over the course of long boss fights.
The sad part is they could easily fix this issue by changing the rune to be focused more on dps
Example bm rune changed to go for the throat.
Landing a critical hit on the hunter increases pets focus regen by 10% and increasing damage done by 2% for 8 seconds, stacking up to 10 times.
Now the bonus damage is purely on the focus regen and has a ramp up time. Fixing the main pvp problem and would likely be a pve buff to dps.
A priest just loses to a bm hunter with bestial wrath 99% of the time if the hunter isn’t a bot.
There is no counter play. There is no burst down the pet. There is no heal through the pet’s bestial wrath.
You press disperse, wait 6 seconds while you’re unkillable, then the cc immune pet still has 10 seconds of beastial wrath and 100 - 0’s you. You cannot cast with a bm beastial wrath on you. You cannot kite it. You cannot cc it. You just die and hope next time they don’t have bestial wrath available.
Hunter has no self healing and if you survuve the stun 1 cast + swd will finish the hunter after he has been rotting from the dots for 6 seconds.
The win condition is getting the dots onto the hunter before the stun and using dispersion as the pet connects to stun.
If the hunter is out of range you do this to the pet instead to remove it then kill hunter.
Cast while the bestial wrath hunter pet is hitting you in the face?
You can heal/shield and let the rot get 1-2 more ticks, then shadow word death.
Or get 1 damaging spell off then swd.
By the end of dispersion the pet has used its initial 100 focus pool and its damage slows down. The bm hunter was likely also running kill command for maximum burst, which also slows down its damage output.
Part of what makes bm pet do so much initial damage on BW, a full focus bar, and kill command. 2 out 3 of those are gone by the end of the stun.
Rogues getting mutilate nerfs next so it’s fine.
I can kill the pets on my spriest in. Seconds now with the 50% reduction. Not really an issue before and zero issue now.
As a an actual player who wishes they could main bm ranged in SOD this is simply stupid. BM ranged is unplayable in PVE and in pvp only people who have no idea what they are doing in pvp die to a ranged BM hunt. GGs blizz. Another “win” for the players.
it’s not #1 DPS so it’s “unplayable”
the absolute state of parse chasers
so basically all ur stuff was on cd and he got the jump on you with all his cds and what you expected you should just win?
god i hope they don’t hire you for rune design you just made it an even worse nerf
You realize that it would result in 100% focus regen and 20% damage right?
So it would be stronger than it is now after building it up.
Essentially adding a ramp up time that requires the hunter to be active, in return for about 2 times the focus regen.
My first thought is - where is the money going?
Second thought - hope you had fun on your two week delayed spring break. Now that everyone is back in the office, please bring some tangible results.
I should’ve stated that my view point is centered around PvE not PvP. PvP obviously shamans are pretty great. Also I’m glad they didn’t do the Way of Earth stuff from P1 where you can dual wield while being a tank.
Also re-reading my statement I really fail to see where I even stated shamans were underperforming??? Hell, I was worried they were just going to get a surge of power from dual wielding this buff! Please refrain from just lashing out at random posters 'kaythanksbye.
The “easy” build for pvp is the deadly brew build which is just relying on being able to kill your opponent in a cheap/kidney combo. It’s a bit bs yea but with the damage nerfs coming I probably won’t see it as much of an issue anymore. The spec that most good rogues use is sub w/ prep, which is a lot more buttons to press and you have to use them in the right order. If you lose opener or botch your rotation, rogues generally get punished a lot harder than other classes.
Imo aside from that deadly brew cheese, hunters are waaaaay easier to play, especially when they get trap launcher now. They don’t get punished nearly as bad for making any positioning/rotation errors since they can weave into melee as well now, so they can nuke you from any range.
cricket cricket
They gave us a 150% exp buff so we can reroll mele. Didn’t you see the blue post.
the story is boring and the gameplay is a slog. but you go have fun in weeb world
the story is boring and the gameplay is a slog
You’re entitled to your opinion and if you think the story is bad that’s fine, the game has won plenty of awards for its story alone and recieves almost endless praise from its own fanbase, compared to what the majority of WoW’s fanbase thinks of it’s story… yeah…
Gameplay is a slog?
Again, you’re entitled to your opinion but, given that the two games share a genre in both type of gameplay and content being delivered you’d think the gameplay would be one of the few things you COULD actually praise for being enjoyable in the sense that you seem to enjoy a fantasy MMO-RPG where the style of gameplay differs really only in very nuanced mechanics.
