The problem isn’t the Parry. This change really doesn’t do anything or addresses what makes Rogue tanking so jank.
Blade Dance in general is the issue. Your entire tank passive is contingent on keeping the Blade Dance buff up, unlike any other tank. I get that you basically want it to be akin to SnD upkeep, but it’s just poorly designed dependence.
Evasion pulling, spending 1cp on Blade Dance or dumping into it. The class is the only tank without a single AoE ability and wrapped behind the worst version of the combo point system so you’re constantly energy starved and popping weak finishers.
Blade Dance is up? You’re doing a basic rotation, there’s no variance in abilities used unlike Warlock/Shaman Tank or even the Warrior/Druid/Paladin tanks compared to their DPS specs.
You’re just begrudgingly finishing with a Blade Dance and then playing completely normal Rogue.
Main Gauche is alright, but until we can even scrape avoidance cap it’s useless. Saber Slash is way too good and the threat/dps gain is going to outweigh it every single time.
I’m hopeful you guys can fix it. It is Level 25, but this isn’t a “wait and see” level issue it’s just a core design issue.
Just re-work Blade Dance a little as it’s the core issue, everything else just trickles off it.
Druids stay losing, exactly the sort of class and character you see on twitter posting feral smut then whining to a dev in DMs with an essay about how not having god-tier dominance over a melee class makes them want to self injure.

Yes, SoM mana regen is amazing. This buff will change it from giving 0-1 mana every 3.7 seconds to 0-2 mana.
Truly a class defining buff.
Paladin who uses Avenger’s Shield in PvP here. This needed to happen. Hunter’s Concussive Shot also says it “Dazes” a target and yet people can properly remove it. It was completely broken that only Avenger’s Shield couldn’t be removed in any way. Only non-removable daze should be from mobs hitting you from behind. If this change tilts you, you’re probably just bad at PvP and were relying on a broken mechanic.
Is this going to change anything? Martyrdom does 30% of your weapon damage as holy. You then take 10% of that 30% as damage (3%). You then gain 10% of that 3% as mana (.3%).
White Hit for 200
Martyrdom for 60
Lose 6 health from Martyrdom
Gain .6 mana from Martyrdom
Now with the +100% buff it’s 1.2 mana gained.
Still garbo.
Not bad, but would like to see Divine Storm and Crusader strike switched from Physical damage to Holy damage so we can get some AOE threat without shoehorned into Consecration. CS just because…well…we’re suppose to be ‘warriors of the Light’. All of our attacks should be Holy damage based.
((Yes, adjustments do the damage would be needed since Armor would no longer reduce the damage. Overall, it’d mean casters take less damage from us, while ‘heavy armor’ classes take more.))
As a wishlist item. I’d also like to see Hand of Reckoning rune grant the ability Holy Strike (removed in patch 1.1.0). It functions like Heroic Strike (next auto attack is replaced) but does Holy damage. – Tank Paladin is very boring and has a lot of ‘waiting on cooldown’; I’'m running out of Netflix shows to watch while tanking.

Keep Rockbiter threat limited to Way of Earth. Ripping away threat while meleeing (Ele has to melee…) is nuts. Also can’t help DPS as Resto (less of a problem).

pretty upset there were not SP gear added for BS… Hpals just getting the short end of the stick again. Avengers shield which was kind of my own good feeling ability in pvp just gets shifted now so I guess its time to feel useless for another phase.

Dude without the dmg nerf my Ret would completely 1 shot you it’s a bg wide buff everyone has it it’s literally doing nothing but improve the gameplay so everyone doesn’t get 1 shotted
Hand of Reckoning rune already does enough on it’s own. It’s carry nearly an entire tanking kit already, with the taunt, threat gen increase, mana regen on heal, and damage reduction effects all built into one rune. A Holy Strike ability would probably be better off as it’s own rune later on.
Between Avenger’s Shield and Divine Storm, you really shouldn’t need to spec for Consecration at this point. It’ll make your AoE tanking a little better, but it isn’t a huge deal right now. Especially for Engineers with access to bombs. The HoR rune also has an unlisted buff to threat generated by non-holy attacks too.
I think a better change than converting DS and CS to Holy damage would be to let then also proc Seals.
The fundamental flaw with blade dance was that if you had a few seconds left on a 10% parry Blade Dance, you couldn’t activate a 4pt blade dance until the 5pt expired … because even a 1 second buff at 10% was considered a ‘stronger buff’ than 26 seconds at 9%.
