Season of Classic Era

From the announcement it seemed like SoD would be so much… more. Beyond runes, which are like 20 mins. worth of novelty content, what is really there to discover? Zones are the same lackluster ones from vanilla, GYs are still at awful locations, some FPs are still missing, questlines are still all over the place, level ranges are whack… its just classic with runes on top + one underused dungeon turned raid.

Please, when you work on later phases, keep your word and expand on the areas and stories and questlines you didnt finish the first time around. Make stuff thats actually there to explore and enjoy the world, not just rsh to raidlog.

Having the same client locks them out from making massive changes to the environment and other core files.

You’re literally in Phase 2… level 40

Dafuq is wrong with you?

Phase 1 and 2 have been quite boring you have to admit.

Chasing runes all over azeroth isnt “content” i mean come on…

They are also put so out of the way that there’s no way you discover them without external information.

19 runes each class, 2 raids, 2 PvP events, new crafted gear for each new raid, new quest giving you a cool new item, new reputation grind with new rewards, oh and near weekly class tuning.

Man, what were you guys expecting? A brand new game?

Near weekly class tunings? Changes 2 - 3 runes a week out of 100

Besides all of the new content, there isn’t any new content. Man this sucks that there isn’t anything new. Nothing new in SoD. It’s all just same-old classic era. No new roles, raids, questlines, or pvp events.

/s just in case anyone can’t tell.

Are you sure you’re playing SoD?

The Blues have been more active with their adjustments and with their communication than in other forms of WoW, yet it still isn’t enough. SoD is getting more, but pretending like they’re getting less.

19 runes which are hit/miss, some overtuned some useless, never going to use all or even a majority of them, let alone chase them all for each class.

2 raids which are recycled from underused dungeons with barely changed / scaled up mechanics.

2 pvP events which boil down to “time is up, do pvp until time is down” with no actual mechanics beyond a zergfest

Itemization in leveling dungeons is trash. A couple rep vendors and recipes is barely patch level content, not new-mode content.

they all missed out on all those reputations they never touched, wildhammer, bloodsail, etc etc

they really missed the mark with SoD, they turned vanilla into this retail wannabe instead of taking what made classic…classic, and pushing it forward.

You think they are spending 37 hours a week on making new content?

“There’s really nothing to discover is there?”

sod has been great … all these new age gamers or whatever they are just hate everything it really doesnt matter at this point what it is

Do you have any examples to point to? I’m not saying, “No it didn’t,” I’m asking:

Do you have any examples to point to? — I’m genuinely curious, because I have seen a lot of people post on the forums that seem to say something like, “what am I supposed to discover?” or “I thought class balance was the point,” or something else.

I watched a video with some of the devs, and got this quote from a Lead Software Engineer on WoW Classic:

I have personally found there to be a ton of interesting things to do and discover. Granted, I may not be a die-hard, WoW Classic/Vanilla 20+ year private server player (I only had 4 max-level characters during WoW Classic 2019, for example), but all the new runes and abilities, the PVP and Raiding content, and level caps that give a chance to check out fun and interesting quests and item rewards that push the boundaries of these levels has been really fun, for me.

Of course, I may not have been expecting what others may have, and I didn’t watch any promotional videos or content (that I am aware of) prior to the launch of and playing SoD. I only looked some things up after reading about what others seemed to have expected on these forums.

:woman_shrugging:

Humor me. How long does it take to make “new content”? How many man-hours do you think are poured into it?

Some are useless because of player feedback. They exist and they are there. You choosing not to chase them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

You and I remember vanilla Gnomer and BFD VERY differently then.

If their plan is to use SOD as a beta for classic+ or test out how classic+ would feel, then yes.

The reality is you have a new raid on a 3 day CD, new runes (this content is done once completed so a once-over travel across the universe completely lackluster boring content) and a PVP event that has terrible rewards, and useless rep for most people

Can you point to something that you like? What is good or fun for you?

note: not would be, but is. What is an example of something you like now.

:woman_shrugging:

I’m not alone when I state those facts though.

the rep for supply co gives nothing but a 14 slot bag (which was nice) but once thats grinded its over

Runes grind is not fun at all, what rune quest line did you have fun with?

PVP rewards are useless for most people.

The only fun part is the 3 day lockout raid which is getting stale
