Season is so short, what's the point?

If you’re planning on playing this season, what’s making you want to?

I really enjoy building a character or two over the course of a season but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to work this season. I’m kind of lost on what to do

Honestly? Boredom.

The point is to have “something to do” while we wait for Dragonflight, otherwise we’d still be in “last patch” although to me, we are still in last patch.

they are testing on the short seasons to get a feel on it
if they are short then we can be prepared on the ending time
if thats the case we might have 3 or 4 season a year

I set aside time to play WoW, I basically took half a week off and I find myself playing Cities Skylines instead

we all are --the patch hasnt changed just the season

“Short Season” is still 4 months long. Plenty of time to get things done.

I personally would not take extra time off to play a game without an actual game plan. It’s fine to play other games, though, you are not in some exclusive contract with WoW. I think even though it’s a short season, there is still time to work on a character or two.

god of war ragnarok releases in november , get god of war and play through that you wont regret it

I was still missing a few 278 pieces on my main last season (I had 3 15+ vault spots literally every week plus mythic raid some of the time too) with my luck I’ll be half-geared in 4 months and never really truly see how high I can push these keys

It’s going to be rough for those who weren’t already 270+ when S4 started.

I was going to push M+, but the prospect of gearing up and learning 4 dungeons that are completely new to me in such a short time just doesn’t feel like an attainable-enough goal to hold my interest. we’ll see over the next few weeks

What’s the point? Nothing

It’s an experimental “filler” season/patch, it’s whatever

Mount rewards?

I’m in a similar situation. For me, the thought of learning 6 dungeons only for that information to be useless in several months sounded extremely unappealing. I ended up playing anyway out of sheer boredom. The season is short, but I don’t really have anything better to do. There’s also a chance that dragonflight gets delayed and it ends up actually being closer to a 5. 6+ month season.

For someone who knows nothing about the non-tazavesh dungeons…it’s kind of overwhelming and tedious. So much crap to know and guides don’t really help that much. Yeah, they tell you the bare bones…but so much of the stuff you just have to experience if you want to be good at it. The dungeons have been fun I guess, I just don’t like not knowing anything…and it’s not like everyone is on the same footing…lots of people played BFA and the other expansions and actually know the dungeons…whereas it’s 6 brand new dungeons for me to learn. ick.

The higher item level gear will make it easier to do whatever people typically do when there’s no new content, like Legion/BfA transmog runs, farming for protoform synthesis materials, running higher layers of Torghast to farm cosmic flux/soul cinders/soul ash for alts (as well as anima and transmog from the Adamant Vaults), etc. There’s at least as much to do now as there was at the end of season 3, if not more.

Missing a few 272 vs 278 for 99.9% players won’t be the limiting factor. Similarly, it won’t this season. With uncapped valor and increased valor per run we can max upgrade more items and faster.

Another shiny elemental and dragon.

bruh… the whole patch reflects the WoD mess issue and Blizzard’s idea that if this expansion is bad, they cut it in X.2. without a better gameplay, lore, and detail of that expansion, nothing happens to the other expansion and apart from promising that it will be the best, they leave the previous one like a bitter pill remembering that it was the worst thing the company did to the game like a scar that will never go away.

They already said it, it will be the shortest patch, at the end of the year we will see the next expansion, almost most of the patch will be a challenge for those who want the said rewards in Raid, pvp and Mythic +.

Unfortunately the devs didn’t learn anything, they may do the same in the future by not having an X.3 or X.4 patch if that expansion fails outright.

I agree, this is more of a psychological motivational thing though. In past seasons I knew I’d eventually get to the max level of gear and I had that as a goal and it was something to work on that I enjoyed. I pushed my first 20 of the season yesterday and I had a feeling of “whelp, this is it” where it normally would have charged me to push higher
