Season 4 PvP Update: Removing the Conquest Cap and Spoils of War

• Second, we know that once the Conquest cap is removed, many players will set out to acquire a full set of gear as quickly as possible, creating a significant power gap between themselves and any characters that are new to the season. We generally do not remove the cap until later in the season when we feel many players who have been playing all season have had the opportunity to acquire a full set of gear. This allows the competitive environment to remain closer during the early part of the season.

By lifting the cap early, we understand that some of the above issues may arise. But in this shortened and experimental final season of Shadowlands, we want to take an opportunity to be flexible and responsive to your feedback.

All u have to do is remove honor gear completely and let unranked items cost honor instead and then u use Conquest to upgrade the gear

Only thing that would make this even better is if they also announced all honor and conquest gear would scale to max rank in instanced PvP like it is going to in DF.

Uh oh! I think we all know one thing that could and should be done to combat this. But I’ll go ahead and spell it out. Remove upgrade tiers from the conquest gear! It’s the only cherry on top that’s missing from these excellent changes.

Nice change! I guess it also fix that people were getting new tier from the old vault problem, at the same time. Since now everyone else can get on an equal progression with them.

I can run M+2’s as many times as I need to to “target” an item. So sure, I have to jump through some more hoops, but isn’t it the same? In fact, the amount of arena grinding you have to do to purchase the base item may be roughly the same as the time you spent farming M+2s (depending on rng).

I’m all for the cap being removed, but that take is fried.

You’d have to run m12 to get comparable gear to max honor which you could just grind out in bgs already (285).

The only thing missing was the ability to make tier gear since you couldn’t from honor.

There are 2 significant issues left for PvP gearing:

1. 15k honor cap is a joke at this point. The amount of honor a geared PvPer wastes on their main is astronomical. This also causes near-BIS geared top players to have to spam BGs to upgrade gear, absolutely smashing newer/less geared PvPers… it’s not fun for anyone.

2. Honor is now the only PvP-relevant currency that can’t be sent to alts (Conq boxes once they return, ash, cinders, flux…) - please allow us to dump honor to our alts, for similar reasons to the above.

First, we understand the sentiment regarding how Valor is uncapped this season while Conquest remains capped. However, the two currencies are not exactly alike in design or purpose. For example, there is no Valor vendor where you can purchase the specific item that you want. While Conquest is used to acquire specific items at a vendor, Valor is used to upgrade items that have dropped randomly from the Great Vault or from running M+ dungeons.

well, here’s a way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone- have cq be needed to upgrade cq gear, not honor. besides the obvious of upgrading cq gear, you also won’t have to tryhards farming random bg players, not to mention them crying about “noob” pvp players joining random bgs in green gear.

Not good enough tbh it is already kinda too late. Second week in and everyone already has max gear Raid/Dungeon gear so going into pvp against it is so lame. No pvp items are able to even be bought at this point basically because you constantly time gat everything.

With 0 new content added to the new season why even cap anything? Why put a limit on how fast you can gain gear from 1 way to another. Stop time gating everything people have been saying it all patch.
