FYI, you can buy the 415 armor tokens from the dreamsurge vendor and convert them in the catalyst to Aberrus LFR tier.
I dont like that this is the case, because the beacon from beyond is still an A tier trinket for prot warriors.
This is what sucks the most. I had a mog planned but then I catalyst-d my dreamsurge gear last week and it was just the LFR appearance of the tier set instead of the Normal like it should have been for the ilvl :/// Lame.
Is the only way to get normal appearances to run Aberrus now? I’ve never done the Raid but I guess Ill start having to…
I love that a bunch of my alts had the upgrade crests but just not enough flightstones. Figuring I will get enough sooner or later. Then flightstones got deleted and all my crests get turned to gold. Great time to take a break until next expansion…

It’s how the valor system (direct predecessor to the current upgrade system) worked going back to SL S1->S2 changeover.

Have to run Aberrus if you want Norm now too. Dreamsurge gear only changes to lfr appearance now.

That’s the issue people are complaining about in this thread tho, I used my weekly dreamsurge token to get 415 shoulder pads on my mage. Went to the catalyst right after, converted it to a tier set. It’s the same purple LFR appearance that I already had :///

Sorry if this is dumb but how do I run normal Aberrus? I keep searching Aberrus in the custom group finder and there’s nothing listed ever lol. Is it just unpopular or is there like a nickname people use for it?
No one’s running that anymore because the loot is out of date. It’s unlikely that anyone’s going to be doing it for the foreseeable future for anything other than the odd achievement run. It may come back if they do another Fated season at the end of the expansion, though.

flightstones drop from bosses is the reason people would run the second raid
The normal method would be to click Dragonflight Raids and then search for Aberrus because it likely won’t ever appear in custom groups.
Though, since it is old content, people likely won’t be doing it nearly as frequently.

It is a bit of a drop off after how accessible the they had made season 1 appearances. I can’t blame people for expecting the same.
With that said getting full LFR s2 is atleast something and the tier can work on low lvl keys till I get something higher (1 pce new tier, 3 to go!)

Not a fan of this at all. Season 2 gear should absolutely be upgradeable still, there is no reason for it not to be. They nerf everything from season 2 thats good so it’s not like that is a risk. Upgrading items is a good way to earn transmog, so season 1/2 items should still be upgradeable for that purpose.
