So, it looks like any season 2 item I had not fully upgraded yet is stuck at its current level.
That also severely reduces any reason to do things like dreamsurges, time rifts, world quests, and anything else that awards season 2 gear, since it looks like we can’t upgrade it past base level anymore.

This was mentioned in a blue post a while ago when patch dropped all season 2 currency would either be converted gold or turned to vendor trash.
Blizzard has done this since who knows when it’s not a new system.
Well that sucks. So much for being able to get LFR and Normal appearances from season 2.
They had their ilevels increased to season 3, iirc.
Not yet, it’s all showing S2 still.
Season 1 didn’t have the upgrade system. So this isn’t the same at all.
Since there is no way to upgrade season 2 gaer, then there is no way to get last season’s tier appearances now from that gear. Thus, why people aren’t too keen on it.
New season hasn’t started yet. So that’ll probably happen next week.
Yeah, would have been nice to delay the currency conversion. I still have one myth mog piece on my priest I still need.

Next week, most likely, since the gear hasn’t changed yet. Either that or it’s bugged right now. But that’s from the patch notes, so they listened about stuff needing to keep current, at least.

I am guessing upgraded ilvl gear will activate next week when season 3 starts for other content so emerald dream is the gearing choice this week. Just a guess on my part but seems logical as that’s what happened last season nothing upgraded until season 2 started
I personally get TIRED of all this ‘obsolescence’ (omg I spelled that right!) every few months! You come back and this is now just ‘junk’! It is a brain cleaner/brain docking beyond the game IMO. Just my thoughts. ‘Obsolescence’ forget the past it doesn’t exist! Wee…
This is really messed up. I have multiple alts with dreamsurge gear converted in the catalyst that I acquired purely so I could upgrade it in the new season for transmog colors.
I checked on the PTR multiple times throughout its duration to make sure I could upgrade those items before doing such a long farm and it always worked there, even when crests were grey items. Having upgrades for season 2 gear suddenly disabled sucks. I spent so much time preparing those items for upgrade with the impression it would work due to the PTR experience. Feeling really bummed right now about this.
I went to new area and found the ‘upgrade’ guy and the ONLY thing I could upgrade wa the ‘Chronologically Unstable Loop’ 389 with a token that’s long been unused and vendored. all my gear (low/solo) 424-437… NONE of this gear is upgradeable. I am SO CONFUSED! and so tired of the ‘obsolescence’ of DF in particular. Seems this fast paced, delete/obsolete the past is accelerating… in my opinion and experience.
Yeah, your transmog sets just get left in limbo aka more unfinished work by blizzard. Great isn’t it?
