I’d assume it plays out just like dungeons have in seasons prior.

Delve Tier 8 will be tuned for example, 640 item level opposed to 600 item level. The progress will likely be reset too, so you’ll have to do 4 → 5 → 6, so on.

But yeah, as Brocknor said what makes you believe Season 2 in November? 11.0.5 is supposed to be November. We wont see 11.1 and Season 2 until 2025

No, they did not say that.

It’s a trilogy, yes.
They never gave a timeframe though.

They’ve said they’d like to do faster expansion cycles about 7 times over the last 20 years and they’ve never actually done it. If they do it this time, it’ll be like 1.5 years instead of 1.8 or whatever. Certainly not 6 months lol.

This expac is part of a set, but we won’t be seeing Midnight for about 2 years, maybe 18 months

That isn’t how it works. It’s 3 regular expansions, roughly 2 years in length each.

Season 2 in november would lock 90% of the guilds out of AOTC and many more from KSM/KSH.

What I’m expecting:

  • There’ll be a new companion, and Brann will be retired.
  • The new companion will be themed around the new raid / open world content.
  • Your progress will be reset, and you’ll have to start again by unlocking tiers 4 and up.
  • The new highest tiers (whether it’s t8 or higher) will drop gear at approximately the same relative progression level as in this tier - IE, comparable to M+ gear from the new season.
  • Zek’vir will no longer be fightable in any form, and any associated achievements will no longer be obtainable. However, a new villain will appear to take its place.
  • The new zone (assuming there is one) will also feature a small roster of new Delves.

What I’d completely love, but don’t expect:

  • There’ll be a new companion, but once you’ve cleared certain requirements, you can get Brann back either randomly or by choice.
  • The entire roster of Delves will be either significantly expanded or entirely replaced, with new ones themed around the new raid / open world content.
  • The basic formula for Delves as a feature will be slightly iterated upon, with less formulaic Delve designs and significantly more randomization.
  • The different tiers will be entirely rebalanced, with significantly increased jumps in difficulty between each tier, and the new highest-gear-giving tier being something that people actually have to gear up for weeks in order to tackle. IE, you have to actually do lower tier Delves to gear up in order to take on the higher tier ones, instead of just waltzing into the highest tier on day 1.
  • Delves are separated out to get their own gear track, similar to PvP gear, so it no longer feels like required stepping-stone content and becomes a genuine progression path in its own right.

11.0.5 is not Season 2; that will start in 11.1.
