Guess I’m one of the few undead players that don’t gank or do dickish things at all.
Well, you have one thing right. Never give members of the opposite faction the benefit of the doubt. Oh, and you can report them for hiding out on the roof in Darkshire. Blizzard considers that an exploit.
Sounds fun to me
Yeah there were a lot of gnome rogues … but I think a trend ran counter to that … some people just didn’t want to play gnomes. The cutesy affect was a negative for them. So if I had to guess it wasn’t a total runaway trend with gnomes. Though there were a lot of gnomes, I was killed by human rogues a ton.
I don’t think there’s any such real negative counter for the undead. As someone said, the “edgelord thing” is likely an additional positive for them.
anyway, like I said, I think this creates a bias experience for alliance, how they view undead.
And that is just weird to me. In every other game I’ve played, that had PVP. You NEVER went alone. You always traveled in groups. Why do you all do this to yourselves? You don’t help each other. Why?
The games we played back then were much more punishing (as you detailed). One of the main selling points of WoW was that it was more player friendly than past games. The penalty for death in WoW is very light in comparison. People would be more inclined to play in groups and back up guild mates if there were greater consequences like XP and item loss. Since there aren’t, there is less incentive for people to help in world PvP and also a bit less guild/faction pride.

I would think the literal lack of being able to advance would be incentive enough. Either its not as bad as people claim, or people are being apathetic derps.
Grimraust,
I didn’t reply or read your posts. But, I suppose your response is tied to this:
The OP stated this:
World PvP always is and always will be just trash for PvP scrubs.
I do read peoples posts. It allows me to understand the poster. My replies changes based on what I read:
Hugeballs, I’ve read your other replies on other topics. I am sure those provided positive affect.
Please look at from the side from the players that came back to …
I did question if the OP understands that almost anything goes on Pvp server. To me, he sounds frustrated and doesn’t realize that everything that makes him angry is going to continue. These “bad” things will continue to happen on a Pvp server.
I don’t condone that quest givers should be killed off. I didn’t respond to that part of his posting. And I think that killing quest-givers over and over actually is against the TOS and can be reported.
While I might bring their public posts into the discussion; you attack personally about who you think I am in real-life.
Most of what you stated was about you. Ok, good for you? (I’m not sure how to reply to that part of your posting).
And your feelings about the griefing. My feelings exactly. After several years playing on Pvp servers for EQ2 and for Wow, pvp no longer appeals to me. That is why I am on a Pve server.
Edit:
I decided to read your posts. So you are the OP.
You, yourself, will grief back.
If I do get involved I’ll corpse camp them until they ragequit
Pvp happens on a PVP server.
You rang?
It’s as another poster had stated that in order to prevent the other players from furthering this behavior it is necessary to prevent them from coming back to that destination. To me it’s scummy to kill a quest giver that could affect 30 people in a zone that are actively trying to work on that quest. If i can help other players in the zone just play the game then i figure the result justify the means. I’m personally not overly frustrated(because face it, doesn’t matter who or how good you’re, frustration just happens to people eventually on PvP servers) but i’m a bit cheap with my gold so sometimes i’ll drop in a lowbie town(with higher rep) or maybe to stock up on reagents before another FP. For the most part most people that either ganked me or killed me in combat have been pretty nice in the fact they just do a 1 and done then be on their merry way. I didn’t know it could be reported though, i just thought it was just scummy behavior that everyone turned a blind eye too including GM’s.
The other point about you creeping is in regards that people usually don’t have the best intentions when digging through someone else’s trash. With the modern age of people scavenging through a person’s entirety of posts and taking a conversation out of context it’s usually used in regards to demean that person’s whole message. The original message was about griefing lowbie towns without consequences, and what you quoted was rather steered towards a different post where i was responding to a person that thought World PvP was so great in classic and I thought it was bad because the level difference across the map is just too wide a range from lvl 1 to 60. I firmly believe it’s better in BC and WotLK because the level range is narrower and a skilled 60 could still drop a 70.
Because no one wants to play a troll mage
i’ve met some pretty jerky dwarves and night elves in my day… but i still accept you tiny dwarf man.
Personally, I like the animations for UD casters and Rogues best. That, and those classes fit the race fantasy best. I prefer Orcs for Shaman and Warriors for the same reasons.
The other 10% get revenge ganked for simply being Undead.
Everything that you have said is valid and your posting is clear and concise. You’re replies still have an “idealistic” picture of how world PVP should be. So bringing your other post into this discussion is valid from my point. That post shows your overall view of World PVP. Thus, it is the reason that I did so.
Pvp by level range still doesn’t quite work. Spells resistant increases significantly at 3 levels difference . And then you add the twinks.
Killing lowbies and killing off the quest givers and flight points at crossroads and southern barrens was common. Me having to log out or come back later to turn in quests was a common occurrence back then. And so; while I didn’t like it, I accepted those type of things happen because it is a Pvp server.
Blizzard has stated that if a player keeps killing off quest givers, that the player is interfering with the game and that player can be reported. And they have (currently) been reallocating and warning players that use obstacles. I would hope that Blizzard would give a stronger reprimand for repeat offenders.
Realize that you had already set the tone of the topic with the phrase “Scummy UD players”.
It’s a call to arms for others to help defend and get some fun wpvp going .
Unfortunately, I’ve had the complete opposite experience with gnomes.
Same, I’m on Mankrik so we only flag if we choose but the only time I scrapped was doing Wastewander guys in Tanaris and this gnome started jumping around me flagged trying to start stuff. I clicked him and out pops this dwarf. Little did they realize that I was a shadow priest and my hunter buddy was about ~25 yards away. We ended their miserable existence.
