Is this even looked upon by other players as a bad thing when you have top players ( even streamers) using private scripts that were written for them
Not straight up botting but more like light botting.
Quite a few top players use them during live ladder and with AWC not being on Blizzcon you are starting to see this even in AWC games.
They are talented players, but it gives them even a bigger edge, most of them are rationalizing it that they have to . In order to fight the botters
Not going name shame, it doesnt serve a pupose but they know who they are and it would surprise many of us who actually is using these private scripts.
There are 2 maybe 3 scripters doing this and it’s quite well known since the community is small
what say you , is light scripting a bad thing or is it an ok sin?
It’s not botting. It’s system accepted or understood programming language written in a manner that can be assigned to a macro (button) which is then spammed which doesn’t issue a command to execute your kick but is waiting for a condition to execute. That condition is the enemy is casting. Botting, cheating, exploiting are all different terms with different definitions.
Realistically at this point, blizzard need to do away with the standard macro ui. They need to create a new version with options they only want in game. That way you can only have @1,2,3, @mouseover, @cursor, and so on.
Open the ui.
Click create new macro.
Click what spell you want to make a macro for.
And then you will be presented with the options available for that spell, @mouseover, @focus /target /areana123 /party123, @ cursor, and so on.
They need to remove the ability to create custom scripts. It gives certain players advantages over other players who aren’t as informed about scripts.
While they are at it, they need to get rid of things like omni bar and weakauras.
Yeah, a sort of template creator might be super helpful. Weakauras did something like this where it’s like “Hey what do you wanna make” and “okay do you want it to look” and then “great now which buff are we tracking and who is it on”.
Obviously it can be as complicated as you want, but it lets people easily setup some of the basic things.
Yep. That along with a better ui for tracking dr’s and things like that. The blizzard ui now is really good, the raid frames are great, and the ability to move just about anything anywhere is great. With a few more tweaks and systems implemented, they can break all addons once and for all, and it will make it easier to catch or make it impossible for botters.
Mhm. A sort of optional DR tracker would be great.
Also clarification as to exactly what modifiers are on abilities in pvp might be cool. The tooltip generally updates, but comparing before and after then eyeballing it isn’t ideal, and having it be opt in avoids cluttering up tooltips for pve players.
you don’t know what I am talking about , its scripting using a private unlocker but not full on botting just enough, how did that AWC rogue call it , “edge”
you can believe me or not , it’s whatever asking if people think light botting is something they strongly oppose are tolerable since it mainly done by some R1’s
lol talk about dumb , promoting illegal program for a quick buck. Just asking for a mass ban for his users
Ngl I’ve seen a lot of blatant scripting in 2100+ 3s and 2400 shuffle. The most blatant I’ve noticed are:
RoP in darkness/link perfectly in the middle the instant it’s used regardless where the monk is.
Paladin bubbles/healing at a certain health threshold even when they are DCed.
Spell reflects on coils used the millisecond I cast it without even looking at me 3 times in a row in the same round in the middle of training someone else.
I’m not 100% sure on the reflects, but the other two were pretty obvious.
