Scourge Event Nerfed - Thank You

The amazing part is that carebears are always complaining that the open world isn’t hard enough, but they immediately cry big, PvE tears when Blizzard answers them.

Sad event.

Sorry to everyone who wanted the event the way it was. As some one who wanted an opt out option I can promise y’all me & others like me on here never would have asked for a nerf like OP.

No, this gave the whining side everything they wanted and took everything from us. They could’ve easily limited this event to Warmode and EVERYONE would’ve been happy, but no, they had to nerf the entire event into the ground, because Blizzard can’t balance things for the life of them.

Oh come on! I got few zombie apocalypse theme music ready an everything!!

If you read ANY of the previous posts, you would know that the PRO PVP Zombie side said that warmode was COMPLETELY unacceptable as an option.

Those of us asking for an opt out, asked for just that, an opt out. Pro PvP zombie players repeadly screamed (and still appear to be screaming) that if its warmode only and they cant kill people that do NOT want to PvP the event is ruined.

I myself pointed out multiple times, war mode would be best for the PvP part and was blasted over and over again saying that is not acceptable

My bad, I totally agree with that. Personally, I’d be fine if it was opt-in, as long as it was as chaotic as it was before the nerf.

Outta likes so here ya go. We both want the same thing, just on different sides.

I wanna fight zombies. I wanna do dailies. I wanna kill bosses. I just don’t want to give someone else the ability to flag me then force me to PvP. I would also love it if the major targeting of NPCs be kept to war mode.

Let mindless zombies be mindless zombies. Not a super coordinated hive mind like the Borg.

They nerfed it the wrong way. Blizz should have made Paladins and priests be able to cure the zombies.

Would player controlled zombies be given a “Rez” timer before they could become a zombie again in your scenario? So like if they got killed 5 times, they have a 30 minute “Rez” timer before they can do anything again?

Do you think it would be necessary? I don’t know. On the PTR, the zombies were too powerful, especially in groups. What happened in Vanilla, in the early stages of the zombie invasion, Priests and Paladins could instantly cure zombies - that kept things relatively stable. I only wish that they would have allowed Priests and Paladins to retain that power throughout the Event. There would have been fewer complaints.

Also, maybe make the chance to become infected less than 100%. A simple way to make zombie numbers not overwhelming. Not a big fan of this “War mode” opt in opt out style of segregation - people who don’t want to become zombies should have a powerful way to fight back, and at the same time encourage group play

I can only speak for myself but many of the posts I have seen have not complained about zombie strength. A few references to new characters coming out of Exiles Reach but that easy enough to control.

In almost every post I have seen, the issue was with Player controlled zombies because they would specifically target player characters or do things with the single minded intent to spread the plague as far and as fast as possible - including coordinating every single movement.

The wanna be scourge player base is a LOT bigger than the Priest / Pally player base

Oh it was, and nothing wrong with that. That is why the Paladin/priest (maybe include other healers) should have a tool that is immensely powerful: basically one-shot a zombie into normalcy.

Well, I do have problem with that because it CAN shutdown my gameplay for a few weeks. Its why I wanted the PvP part in War Mode ONLY. Let the wanna be scourge zombie it up to the fun extent they can. If there is anyone that wants to fight it let them.

Just let the rest of us fight the NPC zombies, like we do in every other part of the game without every major quest giver or important NPC dead.

Well, if my changes were put into effect, it wouldn’t shut down ANYONES gameplay. The event should be significant for Everyone, imo, but not prevent anyone from playing how they want. NPCs shouldn’t be touched, at most, possibly busy for a second or two while they kill zombies (if they were given the ability to cure zombies, that would keep the player zombies away!)

I can kinda see where you are coming from, but your viewpoint is opposite the 2 major sides I have seen in this argument.

Side 1 is not happy unless they can kill all the NPCs throughout the world causing inconvenience and they need the ability to kill PCs that don’t want to PvP. They are happy with you letting them PvP agains PvE players but will be mad that they cant completely upend the world.

Side 2 wants to be left alone from the PvP players. They want to fight the NPC zombies and your ideas to use the light to fight back would fit what they want. They just don’t want to have to fight other PCs and they don’t want the PCs to intentionally destroy most of the world just to make gameplay impossible.

I don’t see how Priests and allies will control this when PCs can spawn, die, go zombie and are right back into it almost immediately.

Besides, I really don’t think Blizzard wants to use the Light as a positive force in the game anymore. They seem to be setting up the Light as the next BIG BAD.

It “was” popular the loudest players whined about it constantly but the majority of us all thought it was fun

I think they need to nerf players who QQ so much that they force the rest - the majority I might add, from playing a game that isn’t yours, its actually property of Blizzard but you’d never know it the way they cater to the whiners
