Tbh i don't actually care about how rng gearing is this season. Obviously i'd rather vendors as any normal person would.
I just genuinely think getting rid of scaling would be a good step in the right direction for the games problems at the moment.
Why does damage scale and healers don't with gear? that already puts healers at a disadvantage with equal gear therefore reduces the amount of healers willing to play and lowers the healer player base so a lot players sit in LFG all day and cant find a healer because of this scaling issue and just makes people not want to pvp.
Rsham is tier 1 in perfect gear (as seen in tournament) but cant keep people up hard casting in decent/ average gear.
Doesnt that sound like flawed game design?
Before nerfing and buffing classes, adding abilities back in and pruning, Fix the games foundation. Remove scaling, add vendors preferably and then start working on pvp balance changes after that. because at the moment trying to balance pvp with scaling/azerite trait stacking is just a waste of time due to the difference between being in perfect gear and your average 360-375 ilvl player is like playing a completely different class. Just some food for thought.
Tl;dr
Remove scaling.
Add vendors.
Fix/balance azerite trait stacking
Then make class balance changes
Just scale all gear to the same item level (370) when entering rated games. You can still gear the way you want (e.g. stacking preferred secondary stats), this puts everybody on an even playing field, and will greatly increase ladder activity. It will also allow the best players to be the best players, not some mongos who lucked out with their traits and win only because they stack them.

That is incorrect. I actually stopped Queing after I got gear. Gear drives PvP participation if it doesn't matter like Legion no one plays.
There has to gear progression in an RPG that is why WoW was a success. Gearing up to get an advantage to min/max.
If shiny gear isn't gated behind rating then why Que? I could care less about rating I just want the gear to own up some PvP with and have a great time. The only reason I got into Arena in TBC was because I needed Arena gear to own up some BGs. I needed to get into Arena for better gear or get stomped.
That is why we play. Titles and rating are meaningless too the majority of PvP players. Most people that PvP do BGs and you aren't going to get them into Arena unless there is better gear in there than BGs. Problem is they can just gear in PvE now which removes the incentive to even do Arena. You can still just do mythic + or Raid.
TLDR- If you had a tournament ladder where everyone had access to all the gear hardly anyone would Que in that. It would have even lower participation because people don't play this game for that. Maybe 5k players tops.
