Old thread but oh well. Not so much about trash mobs scaling to level, it’s the item level scaling that ruins it. Item level scaling kills the feeling of character power progression when the trash mobs auto scale up to your item level. And they snuck that crap in back during Legion, and didn’t fess up to it until players called them out on it, and they eventually admitted doing it.
Scaling of any kind is stupid if it’s not optional. Leveling should make things easier, and you should be able to out-level zones and threats.
I used to out level everything except the current endgame Zone
What you mean by current? The most recent endgame zone? Well that’s not the case at all. Classic there were multiple lvl 60 zones that were not current by the end and so did every xpac with the exception of wotlk I think.
But again not really the point I was making.
scaling sucks
Scaling was a horrible idea and I cant understand why they did it.
Legion. Suramar was a Max level zone, for example. At max level it was the only zone in the broken isles that were my level. All other zones were 2-8 levels below me. It made a difference. And this is just one example. Before scaling, this was the case in every expansion.
A 4 year necro is impressive.
/salute
Also scaling was a heavily requested feature because doing each zone for 6 minutes before it turns gray kind of sucks.
And at the time it came out we had 6 expansions worth of leveling on top of the base game.
i’m gonna need you to ess tee eff yew, necromancer.
Yeah and then came broken shore and argus and suramar wasn’t end game but you didnt outlvl it.
Also the whole area in valsharah only had max lvl mobs despite not being end content either anymore.
Or the best? Depends on your view on best or worst.
But those were major patches. This also is something that occurs and we acknowledge that.
I was however still able to quest in the rest of the expansion with things lower level. Only the endgame zones were max level, regardless of new content added. It’s still true. The lack of gear scaling meant that new patches gear also made the previous endgame zones a lot easier.
Now, everywhere in the expansion is level 60. Gear does help but it’s still not just one zone, it’s the entire expansion. Gear scaling also makes overgearing not as effective as in the past.
I get what you are saying but regardless suramar wasn’t endgame during argus, neither was all the other places in broken shore with max lvl enemies.
And since every single wq would require you to fight max lvl mobs it’s an extreme nitpicking of your part.
The only thing that change is that random mobs that aren’t part of anything important and you have no actual reason to kill are max lvl, however all those mobs are scale to og normal dungeons, any character barely equipped would faceroll them.
And I’ll say again regardless there are people that prefer the current system which is why catering to you is not as easy
That was after the leveling nerf in BC. Before that you generally needed to finish the zone.
So I’m right is what you’re saying lol. As a questing healer, it made a difference I notice to this day.
Can you read? You are literally wrong and are nitpicking specific instances where it works for you and ignoring all the other that doesnt and straight out lying calling suramar end game during argus.
Please don’t be intellectually dishonest.
Talk about your necro thread.

“HAha! I leveld up! I’m so much stronger now… Finally, all those mobs paid off…”
Hostile Mob respawns: Hey! Yeah man, I’m totally stronger too! It’s great right?
“…But you didn’t do anything… and… you just… ahhg!”

I guess we’ll agree to disagree. I personally, as a Holy priest questing, am aware of the difference with it since BC when I started. You’re nitpicking by saying a new patch changed the endgame zone which I agree with. But my statements on the rest of the expansion are the same.
Have a nice day. Not replying again.
