Scaling in older instances is broken

My guess is it’s scaled up to DF end game player power. So it would seem normal then.

Blizzard still intentionally lowering player power what is it, a decade after scaling really came into view?

And people actually still buy they’re incompetent and just keep on messing up this stuff in a whoopsie fashion instead of you know, purposefully weakening player power to force players to level up in the new content to justify the purchase of that content and continued investment in the subscription and to likely funnel people into raid content to gear up to try and get back to their old power level versus old content for farm to prop up and justify investing so much into raid and encounter design to higher ups.

To those serious collectors with an army of alts for farming content for transmogs and more this is beyond tiring to go through every expac.

The problem is a good portion of the community will never be interested in mythics or organized raiding no matter how much blizz wants it to be a thing and the sooner they stop trying to force it the better

On the Verge of rage quit lol. Getting utterly angry on my mage who could manage mechagon before but is having a really hard time now. Not wise, Blizzard. Not.Wise. Fix this garbage please.

The difficulty there seems to be good

Difficulty in current level content is great and much appreciated, but when they go and make things that are years old undoable or more difficult than they were its just dumb

I’m finding the difficulty all over the place, myself.

There are some fights where nothing seems to be doing any damage and I can blatantly ignore mechanics, some where it feels good, and every once in a while something that almost just 1 shots you.

I had to pop all CDs to defeat the alliance commander at Jade Forest questline.

Died three times to it…but yeah i enjoyed the fight

Running dungeons last night I got Sunken Temple, which I was prepared for Eranikus but he still chunked about 2/3 of my HP off in one go after the tank got slept(I’m guessing it was a crit cause he didn’t hit me that hard again).

I also insta-killed myself in Wailing Caverns, but that’s my own fault for using Whirlwind that hits every enemy 3 times against a group that included a boss with thorns aura.

Then there’s stuff like RFD where an NPC is telling me to get in the healing circle to survive when the AoE from the boss isn’t even taking 1% of my HP.

Funny that you mention it. I tried it with an alt 2 days ago, and we got destroyed by troll boss who refused to mc anyone else but the tank(me) or sometimes the healer. We ended up almost wiping because he clapped 2 dps and we even had to use brezes. It felt pretty ridiculous in difficulty when everything else was fine, if taking a bit too long to die(bosses feels like hp sponges). As for the tank sleep in Eranikus, you need healer to dispel it, but its otherwise simple, if really long boss fight.

I ran Ulduar last night a VERY old raid on a decent character and my vehicle had so much less health than usual I almost fluffed it lol. I know power needs to drop for the sake of the expansion but given that’s still 25 days away…

I’ve mostly been logging in, checking my mods to see which still need updating or are at least functional then going to play something else. I hope Dominos is ready for launch as I kinda rely upon many of the binds I use from it but if not… gonna be interesting to say the least.

The same thing happened to us, but thankfully my Fury Warrior was tanky enough to make it work. I did do a little kiting of the MC’d tank though.

Also I haven’t payed attention in forever but did they change Eranikus? I remember his sleep making the target immune to everything including cleanse and it just being something you need a non-tank to survive for a few seconds.

They made it dispellable but otherwise it works same as it ever did, but the fact he melees harder and has way more hp creates issues if healer cannot dispel it. So far, its a simple if long fight, but issue is that its entirely possible to get a healer who didn’t unlock dispel yet.

Scaling sucks. I actually loathe it and wish it was only used in Chromie time and never outside of that.

Completely agree with you on that, scaling has ruined far more things than it has made better outside Chromie time.

Because too many people go “It’s just the beta more important things being worked on/they’re not testing that atm!” then it gets to pre-patch and then people go “Lol too late!” every time.

I miss that bliz ‘polish’ that used to be a standard in their games

now we’re all beta testers all the way until an xpac ends, their ant farm that they don’t seem to view as people - just a blob of consumers that must be manipulated towards metrics that increase cash shop buys without losing too many players
