Yeah I was soloing pretty well with Lance til I ran into Rajang. Then I was forced to switch to SnS because lance was just too slow on recovery reaction vs his hoppity hoppity moves. (this is for MH:W of course)
Yeah they nerfed him down pretty good. His moves are actually slower and Lance is faster to react with now.
The problem is the person that is constantly failing a mechanic that the rest of the raid is managing to handle. The raid is as strong as itâs weakest link⌠he or she needs to improve. Help them improve.
We do, doesnât change the fact itâs a badly designed fight and pass fail mechanics in succession or significant amounts is bad for the game, which again BLIZZARD has stated. This fight is loaded with them.
If you go into the shadow realm, you take no damage from any mechanic. In that regard, tanks with the P3 debuff? Toss 'em into the shadow realm so the raid doesnât get hit by the debuff explosion. DPS gets the cleave debuff somehow? Get them into the shadow realm. Grab a bomb? Go into the shadow realm. No remotely safe spots to stand for the big explosion that knocks back/does a bunch of damage? Go into the shadow realm.
If you have a really bad player that just canât help but grab bombs and then dance around next to the boss until it blows up, tell them to do nothing but catch the swirlies in P3. They will either die and no longer threaten the raid, or they will be in the safe pocket dimension where they canât get hurt or hurt anyone else.
All true, each of those mechanics is also a pass fail, which again Anduin showed is questionable design for this game specifically. Though if everyone does go down you do run into the issue of instagibbed by the boss.
If Tank has Aggro and is not playing Spin the Dracthyr during P3 when there is a frontal cleave that murders people and the raid, thereâs no real threatening mechanics besides âGrab bomb, soak some swirlies, WAIT for bomb to fizzle then come backâ âStand in vapor trails for big boom explodey,â and âStack for meteor.â
Also wanna point out the winds come from a fixed location every time so if you bait the rocks towards the direction itâs coming from then they cast their safe zone âshadowâ across the middle of the room.
cant stand those guys all they do is scream their entire video. its obnoxious. i do love the monster hunter games though been casually working my way through rise.
Make half his moves one-shots, defeating the whole point of having big tells for big attacks when just him slamming you with his wing does 150-200 damage.
Because if you take a TANK ATTACK as a dps or healer, you should absolutely die. Itâs no different from Thunderous Blast from Razzy. Itâs literally worse if you survive the Void Slash.
Trying to solo soak a meteor? Youâre gonna die without an immunity.
CAnât dodge the 5 sec room wide AOE? Thatâs perfectly fine to 1-shot someone. Pay attention to the fight.
Just wait for someone better than you to make a PUG-able strat. ezpz. And youâre complaining about are things that kill you, but donât actually kill the raid.
i miss unique fights, feels like the same thing anymore. dodge this, soak that. the only two fights this raid i thought were neat were echo and zskarn. i miss fights like oregorger and hanz and franz. or artificers xymox, chronomatic, trilliax, star augur simply cause of the skybox, gorefiend, socrethar, tortos, horridon, iron qon. just feels like things are really bland lately. used to be fights with unique aspects, whole raids without a raid soaking individual cricles, but now its like every boss. they just implement the same abilities on each boss now
itâs not that the person that took the cone dies, itâs that they take the cone and then kill everyone else. You can also have horrendous overlaps between scouring eternity and void bombs or void slash.
