Sanlayn buffs 9/17

I keep hoping Sanlayn is going to be better for Blood because I almost exclusively play it and love my vampire RP. I have the full Venthyr outfit and the Count/Countess title and I wanna be a vampire!

To be a real vampire, youd have to be BloodElf

Probably not, it is much more punishing and easy to mess up sanlayn vs rider. Rider also does far more aoe. So the only way current sanlayn will ever see serious play is if it is tuned a good deal higher than rider in single target.

I don’t see it happening unless they figure out a way to upkeep gift much more smoothly. Even with the 25% chance to proc a vamp strike, there is still a high chance your stacks will fall off without the rng gods favoring you, and the tree pretty much relies on maintaining shadow damage steroid and bonus coil damage lined up with a perfect blood beast proc.

More control over beast spawns would certainly help, too.

I had a feeling that would be the case. Unfortunate, but it is what it is.

These changes are at least a great start to making it more fun, so it’s just a matter of time before it becomes useful

Bro! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!

yeah, seems like it even with the buffs.

id love to see a lot more with this hero talents. make it more on par while also actually adding some animations to it. not enjoying how many classes have a clear pick for hero talent side.

San Layn should let you bite players and enemies for a buff to yourself and player targets.

oh look sanlayn is still complete dog after the buffs (pvp)

you will never drop riders mobility, utility, and auto proc ams (regardless of nerfs) for a garbage scourge strike amp with overly “safe” self healing, and a miniscule haste buff and miniscule deathcoil increase (rider gives raw strength too does the same thing effectively without any downsides of playing san)

Hey man! Blood exists as well!

I’d be shocked if they ever make San’layn remotely viable. It’s a Hero Talent tree that should be a viable option (especially for Blood Death Knight), but in reality they’ll probably just basically make everyone use the other Hero Talent trees for serious content and San’layn useful for RP purposes only.

Hero Talents are so far kind of just Shadowlands Covenants 2.0 where it’s gameplay realities versus what you really want to use.

Would appear DB is still slightly ahead, I’m afraid

The healing is
A

Joke
So little compared to the damage we take.

I’m telling you all, vampiric strike needs to heal like word of glory levels as well as debuff the target to disease and shadow dage by 30%

Blood DK actually has leeching strike in the spec tree that heals for 0.25% per target hit if they’re affected by by blood plague. I like the vibes, and there are some parts of the hero spec I like (especially if Infliction of Sorrow damage adds to Umbilicus Eternus), but the proc itself just feels really, really bad.

Guardian druids get a MEATY, B E E F Y, chonky chungus of a proc. It even has a separate animation, iirc. Meanwhile Vampiric strike seems to use the same animation of the attack skill and isn’t even noticeable. Q_Q

Been testing San’Layn it feels great honestly. If you like that frost 45 second cleave burst style it resembles that a lot. It’s pretty easy to keep Essence of the Blood Queen stacks to full now especially if you sit in your Defile. 14% haste and 70% more Death Coil damage every time you burst and half those numbers when burst is down is nice. To those complaining about Vampiric Strike heals. I did 3 bg’s with it and Vampiric was my top heals every time. It’s not supposed to heal you to full that’s not the point. I’d say San’Layn is overall slightly weaker than Rider. It would be cooler if Blood Beast procced more but in the end, I would rather see that talent changed to an active ability maybe turning your ghoul into a Blood Beast or something to that effect. Maybe even Dark Transformation replaced with a Blood Beast that could just build up with your burst and explode when your ghoul reverts back. It could work slightly different for blood where it just replaces your Raise Dead entirely and gives you a strong offensive-defensive ability.

Blood Beast is the stupid super zombie from legion unholy artifact all over again. Never procs when you want it to. Should tie it into Dark Transformation and balance accordingly.
