If they can’t give us the actual San’layn race, maybe we can at least get more customization than just one skin/eye combo.

They recently conflated the meaning of Darkfallen to include DRs as under that umbrella, a bit of a interesting choice, but it feels like such a valid point to point to when asking for San’layn options imo.

Well separate the two for starters, add in a few shades of red eyes, and had in some more greyish skin tones.
Could probably get 2-3 more each in all honesty.

You got it! That’s what we’re pushing for next. It’s why I re-vamp(HAH)'d the first post to emphasize customization a bit more. It’s an excellent opportunity to ask for expansion, even if little tidbits in lore, and then some customization.
My biggest hopes are: Claws & fangs. Though bat-like ears would be amazing too. And the other long list of ideas, of course.
Also to unpair the eyes and skins for the DR customization. And let DKs have it. And give it to Nightborne. Especially if they ever add San’layn options. Nightborne would make SUPER COOL vampyr.

So I was going to make my lowbie blood elf hunter a dark ranger. But i’ve been using dark skin on her and realizing I can’t use the dark skin and be a dark ranger… this is really sad.

Still amazes me that they can look at the customization mockups in the original post and not be like ‘Yes, we need this in our game’.

Till now I used the second to last “dark” skin as it has abit more purple in it making it look, to me, abit more unnatural and the “blind” white/gray eyes that look very dead as a stand in for some of my undead elves.
Anyone have that dark san’layn eye picture handy? Trying to edit the Blood Elf suggestion list.

Blood Elves
Blood Elves did not gotten a lot of new options that are unique to them. Most new options where shared with Void Elves. Leaving Blood Elves, especially the males, are lacking in many distinct and meaningful options.
The jewelry has limited colors/designs, their hair is very outdated by today’s game standards, and they have not gotten the options to show their races turmoil through battle damage. Not to mention the Runic Tattoos that are on the TBC box art that players have wanted since Blood Elves addition to the game.
There are a few obvious ways that you can add to Blood Elves to improve their identity and variety as well as improve existing options.
Blood Elf Suggestions
Racial identity options
- Additional Dark Ranger Options. (Dark Ranger styled Makeup, Darker Jewelry, More Skins)
- San’layn Themed Options. (Fangs, Batlike Ears, Claws, ect.)
- Felblood Elf Themed Options. (Fel Tainted Skin and Potentially Horns/Claws.)
Markings/Scars
- Rune Tattoos like the Burning Crusade Box Art and Magister Rommath.
- Phoenix Tattoos like the Farstrider Hanzo Skin for HotS.
- Scars/Burns and Damaged Ears.
- Makeup/Warpaint Options. Including Dark Ranger and Phoenix inspired designs. In a wide array of colors.
Jewelry Improvements/Fixes
- Allow males to use Jewelry.
- More Metal and Gem colors for Jewelry. Including Darker color options.
- More Jewelry Types. (Chokers, Metal Feathers/Feathers and Eye/Nose/Lip Piercings, Etc.)
- Fix the bracelets so they aren’t pixelated.
Hair
- Separate the Tiaras/Headbands from specific hairstyles.
- Larger and Fancier Hair/Beard/Mustache Styles.
- More Gothic/Grunge hairstyles.
- Eyebrow Size options.

Issues with the eye/skin locking aside, I do love that the DR skin gives us black/grey nails, they look sweet.

I think Belmont was there to represent the average forsaken player/fan who don’t seem too keen on Callia.

No doubt.
he also let me ride a cool bat and have the best boss battle in the expansion, so double win.
But yeah that was a good final boss for the expansion.
Would be nice if players could pick those things.
I am now picturing DRs with red lips and nails.

Okay so I have a few thoughts after doing the ugh DR unlock quest

I do like that Velonara solidified she / they consider themselves Darkfallen it seems a nice touch after expanding that to be synonymous w DR or San’layn.
That said, that line was a bit weird to me, “When we Darkfallen Elves were raised into undeath Silvermoon shunned us” not to emphasize the point but depending when they were raised the vast majority were raised under Arthas no? So I mean fighting for Arthas … yeah I can see you being shunned from Silvermoon. The line would hit more sensible to me if they said Silvermoon shunned them despite having freewill or something - but then I am not sure thats entirely true, they’re apart of Forsaken society but Forsaken have been a close ally of Silvermoon since Blood Elves joined the Horde.
I’m being particular it was just an odd line imo, considering DRs / Darkfallen were majority of them raised during the scourge era of Arthas so of course they weren’t welcome in Silvermoon, and the line seems unneeded in that context to get the message across they lost everything they loved and found a home w the Forsaken (?) idk
Like for example it is Velonara who said that line right- I just did the BE heritage quest again recently and saw her fall during the quest line by the gates of Quel’thalas on the dead scar (Was even sad a bit I was like awe Velonara) but arguably when she was raised she was fighting for the scourge, so the line is just odd idk like it should have been about how awful it was to be forced to fight Silvermoon / their home and then finding a new home w the Forsaken after leaving the Scourges control or something, because Silvermoon shunning them in that context at that time is logical, and since gaining their free will they have been allies of Silvermoon through the Horde so idk it was just a odd line.
