At first i thought it was them copying FF14 yet again with another thing but gotta admit they added a interesting twist to those crafter items.
Yeah the crafting items seem pretty cool. I wish we knew if they had much story significance though.
Like, I want to believe; they didn’t have to use San’layn lore for the Inscription quest, so I’m glad they are keeping that lore in mind, but it literally could mean nothing for AR San’layn.
I still don’t understand why they’d bring San’layn into the forefront of the story on the Alliance side at least for literally no meaningful reason. I mean they could have used another more relevant race.
We have to accept that they do bring a lot of stuff up without following through, and we can’t know if it’s just to see what sticks, actual set up, or them just saying “things would be neat to do here”.
And there is so much stuff in WoW that are simply one-offs of that category. Note, that the fact we had San’layn on the War Campaign and now on the Inscription quest does make me a bit more hopeful something is being set up.
But, do you remember how Alleria’s return was hinted through the Cowled Ranger in WoD? Even when Alleria did show up in Legion, that whole set up about the arrows, and the identity of the Cowled Ranger was utterly dismissed. Like we can see that was actual set up, but even so, it didn’t pan out at all as planned. And the thing we don’t know for now if the goal is AR San’layn, or something else entirely.
True, granted I can sincerely hope that it’s not brushed off as nothing. We’re seeing a lot of themes when it comes to vampirism and blood this expansion:
- The entirety of Nazmir
- San’layn in the War campaign
- Blood Magic use in the Nazmir incursions via the Sin’dorei
- Vrykul on the Island Expeditions having a suspiciously high frequency of blood magic spells
I know that Island Expeditions might mean little in terms of lore, but I don’t know if I’m inclined to really think so. Many items drop as quests from those mobs, like the black dragon scale, which hints to possible future adventures. I feel like these repeating things might mean something, and I could also be very wrong too. But I don’t know, we had a heavy light v. dark theme when we went to Antorus, then ended up with VE and LFD. We had zones for HMT and Nightborne, in which we soon enough saw both being Allied Races as well.
Themes tend to be a big hint, so if we continue to see a trend and repetition, perhaps it means something. I know it might not, but… I just feel like it really could.
Give Fallynn her vampire elf, Blizz. You know you want to.
Just do it.
I would literally throw money at my computer monitor to race change several of my characters to San’layn.
I would LOVE San’layn for the Horde, as an Allied Race! Perfect blend between Forsaken AND Blood Elf! That way, if I’m a Marksmanship Hunter, I can always Roleplay as a Dark Ranger!!!
Man I totally hope so. I’m grateful for the community I’ve built around it as well, if eventually we get to play vampyr, it would be so much fun
Man, same here. I don’t even want to think about the cost of my race changes, though, because you bet there would be a lot.
I agree! Yeah it would solve the Dark Ranger issue right then and there too! Especially if they tie in a DR narrative to San’layn. Granted, they would likely look similar, so it would be the best of both worlds I think,.
I feel like having both High Elves and San’layn would make for some fun encounters/story for faction opposition with the Blood Elves and Void Elves.
No it wouldnt, it would be a “too many cooks” scenario.
If I were a San’layn, I’d totally switch to Horde, retiring my Worgen Druid!
Thanks for your opinion but happily disagree.
Makes sense! Could always play both too Though I admit to neglecting my Alliance characters a bit myself…
Go away or we’ll make a new hamburger allied race : 3
Understandable, but I’ll say it like this:
The Velves and Nightborne have been rarely seen countering their core races. And I find this very good.
I think this would also work wonders for the queldorei too, to get them away from the blood elf story and have them focus on being part of the Alliance as a whole.
Sanlayn could have that dissonance between their relatives…but I would also love to seem them do things on their own with other portions of the Horde.
Having them surround themselves with or against the Sindorei comes off more as the blood elves being a crutch to these races…rather than them telling their own stories.
I will probably still main my beautiful child of death here. BUT. I will level all horde allied races… and i got a thing for elves and ex-scourge so this has my vote, especially after seeing some of the cosmetics… i mean whoever did some of those fan made ones did very well.
Ahh, I see. Yeah I wouldn’t mind that, but I wouldn’t mind having them directly oppose either.
I’m still wondering if there’s any truth to the Silvermoon Warfront, I know there’s references in the game files, but I wonder if that was something scrapped or if it’s something they’re leading towards. I could see High Elves being a thing before that, but who knows.
I support dis thread gimme the dead elves blizz
