You could alternatively be summoned or elevated by a god to being a demigod or being in their realms. The different religions and ways of thinking are lacking in WoW. Sure, there’s the Holy Light but as a concept it’s dull.
I saw, yep. Also that blood elves should be happy with the abysmal stuff we got. Same old same old. We aren’t even getting their hair styles without tentacles and they’re asking for more blood elf stuff. I wouldn’t be annoyed about it if Blizzard actually exchanged hair styles, but alas. Gotta keep taking and taking. Sigh.
Oh yes I love this! And yes, I can’t stand the holy light nonsense in WoW. I know its basis in real life and its a group of people that I don’t get along with at all, so having it shoved in my face here, when they act the same intolerant way, just… I hate it. Plus the ‘can do no wrong’ mary sue feel they try to pin on it.
Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I read it and then read after that where they said we have more than enough to dip into our themes so I asked where is my customizations for light, fel, blood, etc. so I can dip into it like Void Elves do void and they all just ignored it. Haha.
Of course they did. They wonder why people are annoyed at them. They keep asking for stuff we’re asking for, whining that they got nothing when they can literally play what they’ve been asking for this entire time, complaining they got nothing, while having begged for void-less stuff for so long. Now suddenly they didn’t get enough and want void stuff. And more blood elf stuff. And vampyr customization.
They sure do put the void in void elves in trying to consume everything, I suppose.
I had an OC who was a half elven Paladin of Tunare, the goddess of Nature and most of the “good” elves. One day, while she was communing in the temple, she was attacked by one of the bigoted high elf priests, and her mind snapped.
After a bloody haze she woke up to a massacre that she didn’t remember committing, but weirdly she felt at total peace. Like it had been something that she needed to do. In that instant, the god of hate Innoruuk elevated her as the demigod of chaos and slaughter.
Her realm is a constant reminder that while she leans towards evil, mortals must be wary how they revel in death, lest they become one of her examples. She isn’t pure evil, though, and sometimes selects people, mostly women or half elves, to ascend and doll out judgement on others.
There’s more to it, and I’m being long winded now, but it was one of my first OC’s I created.
Been there, done that my man. Remember my phoenix ombré suggestions? remember the usual suspects posting a thread 5 days later asking for those hair colors?
Darkfallen use the same model as blood elves.
But they are as distinct from blood elves as Zandalares and High Mountains are from their cousins.
If it was simple to create new blood elves just by making them purple, then it’s equally as easy to do the same with the San’layn.
It will be less work than when they created kultirans, which were made from scratch.
More options and variations are better than what we have right now.
Lol, why do you think I’m hiding out on Lovekiss in this thread now instead of on Naughty in the customization thread.
This is super cool! I can also see how it would be twisted into being good, to be honest, especially if the hate is channeled to those who deserve it, or if truly evil things are destroyed to protect the innocent (yes, I have a DK mentality in life too. Unapologetically.)
I love how cool that sounds, and just the lore behind it, that’s great. So much cooler than my first original characters XD Mine are far better now, but… they weren’t great.
Are you kidding?! Phoenix is a blood elf theme! I mean, people are being petty and trying to say San’layn should go to the Alliance, that’s the usual. But like… the phoenix is a core of BLOOD ELVES. Why in the world are they asking for a literal blood elf theme?! I swear, some people…
Very true! Not to mention they could modify the blood elf model as well, kind of like how they did with a few ARs (Zandalari comes to mind) so long as they don’t utterly botch it.
Yeah, can’t blame you. I have that one on ignore. Glad we can have reasonable conversations in this thread without everyone and their mother wanting to take our ideas and apply it to void elves. Won’t be long now until they do flood, though I hope I’m wrong. If I start seeing ‘view hidden replies’ here I’m tossing in those cat gifs, you bet.
Edit: Oh you mean same ombre hair ideas. Yeah, of course they have, because some of them can’t come up with an original idea if it was a high elf holding up a sign saying “Look at me! Original idea here!”
They were more subtle at it, but 5 days after you made the suggestion and I posted the images, one of the usual suspects posted a thread using a Billie Eillish video and saying the Velves should get those “neon” hair colors (wonder where did they got the idea ).
I wasn´t surprised to put it simple.
Was it a joke thread or were they serious?
She wears a flowy burgundy dress with silver and jade trim, an onyx crown with emeralds and rubies, long black gloves with and long black boots. The boots have red spiderwebbed markings, and the gloves have sharp gems that jut from the knuckles of all varieties.
Her favourited weapon is a whip with three prongs and at the end of the prongs, there are sharp hooks. Her musculature is both hard and soft, being a Paladin in life, but her spellcraft tends to to side more on the blood magic side since her ascension. Her hair was blonde in life, but now a crimson red, and her eyes are in the shape of a figure 8, and red. She also had fangs in many of drawings but that’s not canon. Lol
People took it seriously ofc. Wasn´t terribly popular though, but wait until one of the Belf fans resident artists decide to humor us both with the oimbrés and they WILL demand that stuff too.
Mark my words.
I don’t understand why people aren’t getting why we’re super frustrated that they’re trying to take all of our suggestions and have the gall to demand it exclusively for void elves in some cases too. I don’t care about hair sharing but we haven’t even gotten a hairstyle exchange with void/blood elves yet.
It’s possible people might be getting the idea from the starcrused hair concepts floating around, but I’m a little suspect.
The starcursed concept is super cool, yeah, something I feel would be far more appropriate for void elves than leeching off our phoenix or San’layn ideas >< Hopefully Blizzard listens to that end of things, because that & starcursed eyes, even (although night elves might complain night warrior is being taken, but to that I say super tough luck, they can share since void elves got stuff from blood elves) would be cool.
It’s a cool concept.
I’m more for making the tentacles available for all haircuts and letting us customize the effects/colors on them.
Fair, granted I sincerely am not a tentacle fan at all so would pass on that myself, but it’s a me-personal thing at that point
I was sold on my suspicions when the OP of that thread mentioned the “green color” in particular.
I was like !lul, so obvious".
Better yet, is unique. WTF are people obssesed with poaching from us when so many great artistic ideas are posted on that thread?!?
i just want more hairstyles. the starry hair idea is cool too. but my only personal remaining request is hairstyles. we have the same 8 or so hairstyles we started with, other than the ability to remove tentacles, which works well in most examples but looks odd in others.
i am not stingy with velf hairstyles. wouldnt bug me at all if belfs got to copy our most popular ones.
other velfs would also like to have glowy tats. i think they look cool but i can take or leave them. the concept of neon colors though, thats voidy. void elves have a sort of black light aesthetic. but i dont consider yellows, reds and oranges to be neon. those are bright sure, but so is the sun and the sun isnt a void elf theme.
