Was saying that if the horde got San’layn it would be only fair if alliance was able to get highelves as the counter.
How so? If Alliance got another DK-versed allied race since San’layn are known for having death knights…I believe that is fair. Not everything has to be about elves, man.
Mecha gnomes should logically be paired with what ever the goblin AR is, so either vulpera or Gilblins (since we interact with those later)
I think Vrykul would be a good pair for san’layn since they are oft requested and already have both females and males, though the undead AR will most likely be paired with the worgen, so i’ve no idea what they could be getting. please don’t turn this thread into another elf squabble
exactly, while i understand people linking San’layn to High Elves, i feel that it is too narrow of a thought process. we can only get San’layn if the alliance gets High Elves? why? give a reason for that, which can be conveyed in game. for example, these newfound San’layn are shown to be remnants of a High Elf village (like the one found in EPL) and that they are kidnapping members of the Silver Covenant and turning them into San’layn to boost their numbers, so all scattered High Elves are drawn together under the Silver Covenant and join the alliance to help fight back the San’layn and get revenge (though tbh as i am writing this it feels like it mirrors the Silverpine questing experience where the Forsaken are hunting down the humans still living there to turn them into undead, so the Worgen give them their blood to change them so they can’t be risen as undead, so the High Elves would probably become Void Elves and thus officially kill off the High Elven population").
I think San’layn would fit well in Nazmir myself, personally. Since the new island are so dang close to Northrend, who knows, they could have moved to these islands and been hiding out. Not to mention some say that there’s the whole underground area of Northrend that has not been explored, as we see in The Old Kingdom dungeon. Like I said, I believe they’d be active in those areas if anywhere. Though, considering they’re also seen in Eastern Kingdoms, they at this point could be anywhere and any number.
Remember, not every allied race needs to be paired with another.
Though San’layn and High Elves would go good together as Allied races for each side in a hypothetical “Remnants of Quel’Thalas” patch/warfront it is not the only way each race can come about.
Still having hopes for a secret vampire school.
it’d be nice for all races to get a warfront with them as the main force, we have the Human/Orc one in Arathi and the Forsaken/Night Elf in Duskwood(?) so it would be neat to see one with the Tauren/Troll/Worgen/Gnome/Goblin/Blood Elf/Draenei/Dwarf focused warfronts with armor themed around those races that’s attainable for everyone.
also believe that a warfront in the Ghostlands would be very cool, we’d get the Blood Elves going all out for their defenses with maybe the Draenei leading the charge along with Alleria and Vereesa (only saying Draenei because they are the counter alliance race to blood elves, it would feel weird for them to lead an attack against them considering they helped cleanse the sunwell, maybe the dwarves? idk.) and get some San’layn and High/Void Elves into the mix for a full blown Elven Thunderdome
as long as those dirty alliance don’t touch our city i think a ghostlands warfront would be
I think the deatholme area in southern ghostlands would make a nice base for the san’layn as well
I agree entirely, it’s a fun suggestion ^^
I want the san’layn And I want it now
I think the Krokul(Broken) were also referred to as “Darkfallen” on Argus. So maybe they could just call the update that would add Broken and San’layn, “Darkfallen”.
Blood Elves and Draenei were added together into the game so maybe an allied race based off of them can be added together.
Those wanting to know about an answer that pertains to all allied races, someone asked a very good question: Live Developer Q&A Friday, December 14 – Submit Your Questions - #180 by Kahlua-stormrage
I was pleasantly surprised by the models in the original posts youtube video. I thought they actually looked pretty professional. And the real woman that followed definitely had a “Queen of the damned” look following the model demos which I thought was mildly interesting, if anything it showed there was some inherent genuine interest in the craft. I think the thing that hurts the San’layn enthusiasts the most is that blizzard has said they’re done with elf models in regards to the response to that one high-elf mega thread.
Cheers
I don’t think all is lost, since San’layn are very distinct and different from High Elves. People do like to say however ‘no more elves’ and such like that, constantly, which is annoying because we constantly say we’re not asking for them right away, anytime soon, or before any other races. We’re hoping someday though, you never know! And yeah, that was me! salutes Thanks for the compliment ^^
I did the BE armor scenario, and Kael’thas still has his low poly model from BC (which looks really out of place, he would be at home in an N64 game), and he’s voiced by a sound alike instead of Quinton Flynn. If San’layn are ever a thing, Kael being involved doesn’t seem likely going by the effort here.
I always wonder what the original post said when it gets deleted. I often figure the worst is said before that’s the case, but I’ll never know.
One can hope that High Elves and San’layn would be a good pair as Allied Races together during the Quel’thalas Patch. Through knowing Blizzard where they’re taking the story. I highly doubt we’re have a Warfront in Quel’thalas since we’re going to Nazajator and Mechgnome land leading into Black Empire patch.
I mean I could be wrong. But you may never know what happens. Overall I just want to play different Elves that is original and has different color skin than Blue all the time.
There was like a concept I wrote up eons ago (I dunno, in part like… 4 or something) back before Dreven died that highlighted a concept of: High Elves & Void Elves & Night Elves versus Blood Elves & San’layn & Nightborne. It’s lost in the er, pages and past, but it was fun at the time. Before Dreven died, may he rest in peace or pieces, depends on who you talk to.
Lets hope more of them show up. It would be a Shame if San’layn was forgotten same with High Elves.
I have no problem with the San’layn becoming an Allied Race for the Horde at some point , but I’d prefer if we got something like the Mok’nathal or Vrykul first.
Technically they are already apart of the Horde War Effort unbeknownst to our player characters if you go through the initial Alliance War Campaign, and I think it’d be really cool if we acquired them as part of a questline to the prevent the Worgen from retaking Gilneas or something though.
