Yeah, unfortunately heritage armor is basically a one-style-fits-most. That being said, a high res remake of the blood prince stuff, mask included, would be a good place to start as far as what sort of armor they’d get.
Am i the only one who things if the male San’layn have goatees they have to look aged or stained? given there eating habits xP
When Alliance get their high elves, then I’ll help support San’layn.
and why is support for one allied race contingent upon the alliance getting blue eyed blood elves?
I don’t recall this being a high elf thread. There is a megathread for them already, along with several spam threads now, and we don’t care for support “with conditions”. Go support what you want added but please leave this place alone with that attitude.
Man, Drede needs to rein you guys in better. Too bad, he’s the only one who will.
I swear, we’re not all that terrible!! ;-;
Also dropping in to say I hope you guys get San’layn one day! Would be really cool to see!
I am not responsible for other posters.
All I can do is direct and report.
they would be really cool, but for real though with the way it looks like every main race is getting an allied race based off of them, the Forsaken/Undead would end up getting one as well, and there aren’t that many choices we could pick from.
-
we have the Lightforged undead like Calia, but with her being the only one and it took both a living and undead priest channeling the power of a Naaru to revive her that way it seems impractical to make that a race of its own and not a one (or very few) off character.
-
we have ghosts like the ones from Legion, but they just don’t feel practical as a choice atm unless later patches in BFA introduce us to some new sect of ghosts who join Sylvanas (under the assumption that an undead AR would join the horde since it’s more likely than them joining the Alliance since our Warchief is an undead)
-
San’layn, a race of undead vampiric blood elves who have played a major role in the current expansion which have been specifically mentioned to have “made an alliance with Sylvanas Windrunner.” the only flaws to them so far is that Dreven is killed and that they aren’t mentioned directly in the Horde questing (though we can swim over to the second boat during the quest to retrieve Valentine’s body and see some Darkfallen acolytes)
most other undead tend to be more monstrous beings like Abominations or Ghouls that aren’t fit to be a playable model, only standard undead i could see becoming one would be Skeletons, but we haven’t really seen sentient skeletons around
Thanks very much ^^ I hope you get what you want as well the only race I really just… Am not a huge fan of is Lightforged undead. Really just not a fan of the concept.
Also people have paired San’layn as an idea with Mecha gnomes which could work if we have a chance this expansion anyway.
I’m a simple man. I see San’layn megathread up near the top again, I comment.
Hey.
I think san’layn should be paired with another closely involved race who can be DKs (though i’m not optimistic on Blizzard giving us a DK AR any time soon) like Vrykul
if they didn’t get DK, which would be sad, i suppose it wouldn’t much matter what they were paired with though.
I think San’lyan would be really awesome but if they add Mecha Gnomes at the same time as them I would be beyond disappointed. It would basically be an extremely cool and highly requested race and something Blizzard made up on the spot (sounds really familiar, right?). I feel like blizzard needs to step it up with alliance allied races because gnomes with robot parts are extremely lame compared to something like Vulpera.
That’s my opinion anyway.
Yeah true, that makes sense (or it’s what I’ve seen many people say, anyway). Some have also said night elven worgen (but making them look quite a bit different, more savage and feral from the changes) as well, which could be interesting.
As for DK, I agree entirely. I hope they allow ARs to be DK eventually. Right now it’s disappointing that they have not. San’layn without DK would be very strange.
The requested Allied races I see that have potential to be Death Knights are High Elves, Ogres, Forest Trolls, and San’layn/Undead Elves.
They might have to start at 50 for that to work though. Say maybe next Xpacs Allied Races?
Literally one of the worst concepts ever. Amputated Garbage Gnomes being the runner up.
I really hope they aren’t going to do the whole one allied race per main race thing because that kills so many ideas and introces so many ‘buttpull’ races.
Not sure if this will become a thing. Like with players want the highelves, the devs claim the population isn’t high enough to make them an allied race. San’layn fall into the same category. Voidelves population rp wise was small but we got them now on the alliance side. Both Highelves and San’layn can become an allied race. It depends if the devs want to do the work or not.
I don’t like comparing San’layn to High Elves. They are their own entity, and I wrote out in the first post why we believe they stand as a unique theme not explored as a race–that being them being a cursed vampyr race that specializes in Blood Magic(I go into greater detail on this via the first post). People compare to Blood DK, however Blood DK merely scratch the surface of blood magic via only runic magic. Not to mention, Shadow priests didn’t stop void elves, so this race would be more of an expansion of that magic type, not a concentration and heavy utilization like a class.
San’layn also don’t have a population issue, as we have yet to see any number regarding them at all. They can clearly make more of themselves quite easily, and we saw Neophytes in the Alliance War campaign, meaning there was and probably still is San’layn being made. Also like I said, we still have no original number of San’layn. Dreven was a huge presence in the War campaign up until he died, and he came out of nowhere. We have at least 2 more missing Blood Princes, and we don’t even know if they’re the final ones, now that Dreven has popped up out of nowhere.
If horde get San’layn, the alliance should get highelves. If the devs add one but not the other. Then the horde bias can be assumed like with most aspects of the game and current story.
And this is the attitude I don’t appreciate right here. It’s rude to come into another race idea’s thread and demand high elves. It leads to arguments and is a thinly veiled attempt for demands that have nothing to do with the thread topic at hand. I don’t appreciate when people come in here and try to make demands for other races in my thread–I don’t go into the High Elf thread and say, “NO! Alliance shouldn’t get High Elves if Horde don’t get San’layn!” It’s not appropriate, and it would make my community look bad.
I appreciate people like Drede and Lenaryia for not being this way. I try to keep the topic about San’layn and its addition to the game. High Elves were proposed as a counterpart at times, but not a requirement. There should never be a ‘required’ race for people, that’s a terrible ideology to have.
And again–San’layn are their own entity. They are not high elves, they’re vampyr. Just like how forsaken are no longer human, and worgen are separate races from humans. San’layn have undergone a curse and are something entirely different than what they were originally. Which were blood elves.
So Alliance getting high elves but horde not getting sanlayn according to that logic…is horde bias?
ALLIANCE EXPLAIN THIS DEVIL MAGIC!!!
