They could at least make them a toy like the chefs hat…
I request that if literal ‘Blood’ Elves, huehuehuehue, are given, then they receive the armor of Blood Trolls!
You mean nearly nothing? XD
EDIT:
Did anyone notice that the demand for San’layn as an allied race seems to be getting more popular?
I’ve noticed that too! And people cite our thread sometimes in what they say too, which is so important and I am grateful for. We’ve put so much effort into this as a community, and for that, I really am grateful. When I hit trust 3, I can fix that first post and tidy it up a bit. I’ve got a wonderful gif of our heritage armor idea that could greet people new to the thread and idea that could possibly catch attention, and I could make the youtube link playable too. I can technically do it right now, but I don’t want to touch the first post currently because the coding is all messed up and I can’t fix it without getting yelled at about links, so… at the moment, I’ll leave it be.
Might be from the High Elf crowd returning and that theres been alot of ideas in this thread alone to make them visually distinct which creates a unique appeal
EDIT: Oh and theres that old Underworld fight club theme people want similar to giving Horde the Sabreon for Cat vs Dog theme too.
Yeah Underworld seems pretty popular. I also think the new Castlevania series is really helping the ideology of vampires because it seems to be well loved as well, something I don’t mind by any means.
If we got an entirely new Blood King/Queen, who would be the voice actor/actress? Crispin Freeman, who voiced the English version of Alucard in the Ultamite anime, would be a good choice I think. He also voices Winston in Overwatch.
Why does everything always have to be an elf?
I’m sorry, but this is a no for me on the he artist drawings. It’s just a blood elf with different colors. We have nightborne, void, blood, and night elfs. Why do we need another one?
Why can’t we add a cool new race with somthing new other than elfs… Like why don’t vulpera as a nutural race, or the little foxes that are in the desert. Everything has to be a damn elf lolol
So:
- I’d appreciate if you read my disclaimer as opposed to jumping to this.
- I laid out in detail how San’layn are different from “just elves”, if you don’t like them, that’s reasonable and fine, but your dislike of them isn’t going to change ours.
- Posting about and supporting one race doesn’t suddenly mean we don’t support any others like you imply.
- I know there’s a “no more elves” crowd parroting that phrase repeatedly without even looking at the work my community has put into this idea, but like it or not, people enjoy elves. Look at that, you’re playing one.
- People like different things, we happen to like the vampyr theme. Again, I understand if you dislike the idea, but not bothering to read my first post and then making false statements (i.e. San’layn=Blood Elves, which is like saying Forsaken=Humans) is a bit rude in my opinion and I’d appreciate a less condescending comment. Again if you don’t like the idea, that’s fine, but it isn’t that hard to be nice about it.
They look like b-elfs… With dark features. I’m sorry if youre offended but the game needs somthing more than elfs considering we have 4 different versions already.
I get it your passionite but emo blood elfs are the last thing I’d like in the game
Not offended, simply pointing out that there’s no need to come off as rude. That’s fine for your opinion and you don’t have to support them at all. We’ve given many ways as to how they don’t look like blood elves and can be made more mosterous, easily.
Saying “emo blood elves” right there is intentionally coming off as insulting, plain and simple, you’re not sorry you’re “being offensive”. Void elves might say it as a joke, but in serious context, it’s meant to belittle.
I’m not offended, I’m pointing out that you’re being rude in how you word things. Though I assume you’re not going to change despite what I said anyway.
And finally, we’ll continue to be here giving ideas for this race regardless, and that’s fine that you think the game needs something else. I disagree and want this race in. Also disagree with the whole “game doesn’t need [race]” because the game doesn’t “need” any race. It’s a matter of what people want. You don’t want these, we do. That’s fine, but again, no need to be rude. Along with ignoring everything I’ve said in my disclaimer and how we aren’t asking for them before other races, might I add.
I suggest going to support the races you want to see added into the game and putting work into those communities to show support rather than putting some down.
Then again it just seems like those against the idea like to go out of their way to be rude and put ideas down, so I’m not surprised.
Blood magic is all over the place in BFA, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we got San’layn, an allied race that has mastered blood magic and are vampyrs. Seriously, everywhere I go and almost everything I read has something to do with blood magic.
It is strange that isn’t it? we also have Drust magic which involves both Blood and Death magics from a Druidic point of view, got the Undeath related Blood Magic seen from the San’layn in the Alliance campaign then you got the whole Hakkar Blood Plague references in Zuldazar before we even get close to the False Old God G’huun and all his relations to Blood and Pestilence.
Also Viarris im with you on the ‘theres too many elves’ thing and we sure as hell won’t get them in BfA cause Blizzard wouldn’t dare risk a double up on ARs but that being said its been shown that San’layn can evolve into something more then Undead or Emo Blood Elves and become viable in the future, im generally against more Elves and i’ve been supporting them so far so thats saying something.
I understand entirely, and I’m very grateful that you’ve been nothing but polite in how you’ve said things as well. People might disagree, but that’s fine, and I’m glad that you can voice it in a kind way too. That’s really all I ask for those that don’t like the idea (well, you support a more bestial idea anyway, which works, but still I’m talking about the no elf idea haha).
To be honest, I don’t think we’d see them anytime soon anyway, and not alone or without another large group of races. I think Vulpera have the biggest chance next due to the overwhelming about of work put into them due to story and models. There’s other things people bring up a lot too like Sethrak, Mechas, Gibgoblins, and Jinyu that people mention liking. Even if I might not play or like some of those (I’m totally playing a Vulpera if they make it in, though), I hope that people can be happy with what they get in the longrun, especially with many of the unique races that have come up.
And again, I want it to be clear that I don’t expect nor demand (well, I don’t demand anything, but clarity is important regardless) San’layn anytime soon or instead of/before other races! It’d be nice to have them eventually is all ^^
Also yes though, all this Blood & Drust magic is so interesting, and the more it expands, the more the lines between the magic types get muddled, which I find really interesting. It could make for some good ideas for expanding the druid as a class, into either blood or (as they have already done) drust magic. If the more undead or death races delve into druidism, they’d need different spell colors at least, though.
I wish I remembered where I saw it, but a dev pretty much came out and said Drust magic is in fact from the Nightmare.
Strangely i actually told people back during WoD when people wanted the Undead Paladin without thinking that a Forsaken Druid could be possible by those so desperate to live again they looked at the rebirth cycle of Nature being Life and Death, not much before BfA showed the Death side of Druidism as Malfurion was always Life before recent events then you got the Drust and Thornspeakers who admit they’re siding with Death Druidism more then Life but still respect there needs to be both.
So put that onto the fact we have numerous diseased animals in the game are basically rotten Druid forms and bam Forsaken Druid without a stupid level of effort or even a risk of true retconning
The ones I kill in Ice Crown while farming for mogs and pets are more slate grey and pale than dark. Some of the “tanned” blood elf models are much darker in skin color. Just say’n.
I really think the next expansion is going to be heavily death themed and/or a return to Northrend. All this stuff with Sylvanas, Arthas references EVERYWHERE, Bolvar’s daughter showing up, all the focus on Calia in BtS, not to mention Dreven. So I feel like they’re gently easing Sanlayn into the story for a bigger role and so that we can get them as an Allied race by the last patch in preparation for the next expansion. Well, that’s what I hope anyway.
That would be really neat. They could potentially be the race that you get with preorder (along with whatever rep grind is included in that jazz of course) with some other race that would fit a death theme/return to Northrend. I would sincerely enjoy a return to Northrend, as it is my favorite continent. I do like that idea and hope so too, it’d be a very good time. Not to mention all of the blood themes everywhere too, I feel as though it really is leading up to something as well.
It is undeniable the allure that elves bring in any fantasy setting. As much as people rail against more elf allied races, there is a big demand for them. Simply look what blood elves did for the horde numbers when they were released.
With that said, I could very well see the introduction of sanlayn elves, especially if they focus more on the vampiric aspects like with lana’thel, and high elves for the alliance. Red eyes vs Blue eyes.
And life Vs Death!
And my theory may pan out and the next Xpacs Allied Races start at level 50 and thus get to be Death Knights.
