If they have Allied races next Xpac they could make them start at 50.
Understandable! Seems like lately some start off opposed but then like the idea. Thanks for being open minded though regardless. I agree though, I really hope that if they get added, they will be Death Knights. Any race that existed and was in Northrend during Lich King era should, in my opinion, get Death Knights. If they add Vry’kul or San’layn, therefore, I think they should–I mean, Goblins & Worgen got it, so why not those two as well? And Goblins & Worgen were cataclysm races. I don’t think it’d be too much of a stretch myself.
Regardless though, I do think Blizzard plans on adding Death Knights in for more ARs (even future ones) at some point. The question has come up twice and they said no plans currently, but they didn’t outright say that there will never be any additional DK. I’m holding out strong hope, especially for the 'layn.
Yeah true, though people might complain that those particular ones start off at 50 while the others start off at 20. We probably already see people complaining about the fact that the ARs start at 20 right now too!
No one complained that Demon Hunters started at a higher level then DKs.
If all the next batch start at 50 then it’s no problem.
i’d be in favor of this if it shuts the high elf discussion up, but mostly in favor of this because of the details shown. Also better reason than muh blue eyes.
Eh true, that’s right. I didn’t think of that. Wonder if they’d indeed do something like that, it’d be cool. I wish we had word as to whether or nor SL would be in BfA itself, but Blizzard is being tight-lipped on all ends lately.
Glad you like the details put in! Yeah we don’t talk much about High Elves in the thread, many bring them up and I try to shut down discussion because they have their own thread and it leads to arguments. Happens with any Allied Race suggestion I think, but that one is a particularly hot topic. I just, for the most part, do all I can to add to San’layn itself, bring up suggestions and ideas, and the like, because it’s the race I care about the most (clearly).
I think he was saying that adding San’layn would somehow deny the High Elf request?
Like… aside from being Elves I don’t see what they have to do with each other?
If they continue allied races into the next XPac I can see them starting at a Higher Level.
Or they could release one special batch in BFA
I have no idea but people compare them frequently which drives me nuts because they’re their own thing.
It’s because people feel that any kind of elf is not unique because there are already elves.
Like… the highest percentage of elves we had was in BC when 20% of all races where Elves.
Even if we add two more it would just be equal to that.
It’s not our fault elves are the Eves of WoW and we want Umbreons and Espions. Or would it be Sylveon and Leafeon…?
Its there model + its another Elf thats the main two reasons people dislike them, thats why on the Sethrak megathread i tried to give ideas how to make them even more awesome
Oh, yes I didn’t have a chance to reply to what you said because I didn’t want to take away from the relevancy on that thread, but the general consensus is that all of your ideas are a must of course!
Claws and fangs, bat-like ears, the like. Many of us would love some sort of shapeshifting bat racial, be it something extreme like a monster-bat form (similar to how a worgen functions), cloud of bats, wings (unlikely but hey it’s an idea), and the like.
Trust me, we don’t want just another blood elf death knight model, we’re asking for some major modifications to make them look like monsters.
I personally think that having EVERY San’layn tooth being sharp (like a goblin’s!) would be super cool, razor sharp, in which they could easily rip throats out and such. True monsters and such like that!
Actually we could look back at the very old High Elf textures that were grafted onto the Night Elf male model from Vanilla (they’re in the leveling version of the Blasted Lands) and could work from there, as i also said on the Sethrak thread theres 3 model sets they use the unique face of the Blood Queen/Princess, the Night Elf male and the Blood Elf death knight models just advance those.
Could add feral or animalistic skin pulling on there faces that makes them look more Bat like too just means less pretty blood elves too.
I love this comparison. Yeah I dunno, elves do feel like the eevees of WoW for sure, not that I mind. There’s still felblood elves no one touches or talks about because it’d drive people off the wall to have another elf suggestion floating around. Granted, humans seem to be the same way though, because we have wolf humans, seafaring humans, kingdom humans, and recycled humans.
Yeah that could work! People have suggested varying face options from more bestial/horrifying to normal, that way there could be San’layn that look more regal and can blend in more easily (especially if they have face-masks on) along with the more bat-like, monstrous race. There’d need to be a lore reason for these things but honestly they haven’t expanded much at all on the blood curse, and no one says it isn’t connected to bats, nor that Hi’reek couldn’t have some play in any of this either.
Additionally: RIP Hi’reek, I miss you, hope you’re brought back buddy. ;-;
Anyone ever notice how a skull nose looks a bit like a bats nose?
I think a shriveled up customization option for the nose could be a good option.
Every tooth sharp but have the kanines prominent to fill that classic vampire look.
What are those Blood Princes hiding behind those mask?!
TBH I think it would be cool if they gave the redskin as an option to Blood Elves because lorewise the Sunfurys rejoined the Blood Elves after BC.
There’s two types of Vampires, the charming seductive kind and the blood hungering ghoul kind.
I say let people choose.
The first San’layn Druid can find him in the Nightmare.
Use other vampire fantasy like Elder Scrolls or movies, the lack of proper blood intact (since only ones they get lately are Forsaken) this has then caused them to start withering due to dehydration basically and this prolonged for many years has left them looking old and batty now.
Another option to add is a similar thing to Two Forms from the Worgen in that they try to look more regal using blood drinking and magic when alone or in society but moment they fight the monster comes out.
Lol NIGHTMARE DRUIDS yes! I’d love it, it’d be so cool! Then, San’lan could be like void elves in that manner, using darker magics to fight off the evils, fire with fire sort of thing. Or Drust magic, I think that would be a viable thing for them to use as undead as well. Also agree there with the vampire types, and the sets of teeth. All teeth sharp but yeah, with the canines prominent. Oh! I have an image here that captures that. https://www.deviantart.com/surealkatie/art/Darkfallen-637027533
Yeah people have suggested that one as well, which is neat. I think two forms could work with that or a monster-bat sort of thing too, like in some mythologies where vampires turn into these huge monster-bats for battle.
Question is how would the monster form look? would it just be a buffer more monstrous face on a Blood Elf/Night Elf model? would be it a Worgen skeleton or Orc skeleton usage? Personally im leaning to monstrous buffed out Blood Elf model.
So apparently the emerald dream was a way for Freya to manifest Azeroth’s dreams/thoughts. And Sanlayn may be interested to go into the shadowlands. I can see them siphoning the essence of a dead loa to get them access to both the emerald dream and make a portal of sorts into the shadowlands, that would be cool imo. So many ways they can introduce a Sanlayn spapeshifting undead druid.
I would like to see a blood magic connection to druidism via vampirism to mimic parasites. I think Siphoning Hireek or other similiar themes would be a nice nod to the way blood elves siphoned the naaru initially.
no i was saying i liked that there was more detail to her thread, and i would also be in favor of the san if it meant the alliance would get high elves just to shut them up about having blue eyes.
My sunglasses are back! Avatars are finally updating! WOO!
