Thanks very much, we appreciate it :slight_smile: I love it when people are kind like this, I think it’s the best mentality to have. Not everyone will be interested in the ARs proposed, but if we wish the best for each other, it works out much better. I hope you get what you want too, of course, if you’re going after a particular one.

It’s almost as if these people don’t actually have any legitimate reason for why San’layn can’t be a possible candidate for an Allied Race.:thinking:

I don’t care about them and probably never going to play one, but i feel i’m in the same spot you guys are at: want a specific group of people to be a allied race but blizzard keeps saying no and part of the community is toxic about it. I want everyone to play with what they like and want, so i give my support!

That’s the best mentality to have.

I may not want certain ARs such as Ogres and Naga, but I’ll support the people who want them.

There’s no point in hating on things just because I don’t like them—people deserve to get things they like every now and then.

Please this entire thread is fanfic at best. The story has played out. They betrayed the Horde and attacked the Alliance.

Don’t let the elf haters get you down. All they are is a minor annoyance if you don’t let them get to you.

On topic; Here’s a theory.

If Sylvanas goes old god crazy to the point her Dark Rangers are like “I’m out!” would that be a reason to have them become a fully playable Horde race?

Starting to think Dark Rangers/Undead Elves might be the direction they’re going, despite San’layn being a much more unique and defined theme.

So… where did Dreven come from to begin with? Where are the missing Blood Princes? Are we forgetting that Sylv blighted her own troops as a pragmatic decision like how Dreven destroyed the Forsaken to keep his power up, are we also forgetting that no one on Hordeside knows about the ‘betrayal’? Finally, are we additionally forgetting that they did accomplish their mission, as said by Nathanos on Hordeside?

You don’t have to like it or acknowledge the obvious, which is that the story isn’t done yet. But your ‘it’s not going to happen’! won’t stop us from talking about it or pointing out, again, the obvious.

Well it seems every race is getting an allied race that fits their theme so for the Undead they would pretty much need an Undead allied race and it pretty much comes down to at this point vampire elves or banshee dark ranger style elves (which imo are more of a class than race).

The problem with that is, undead elves don’t bring anything new, they’re basically forsaken… but elves. Dark Rangers are really just a class.

San’layn have an entirely different theme, and they are distinct from either undead elves, Death Knights, or Dark Rangers. They’re vampyr and have that blood curse (as mentioned by the Stormheim questline), so I think they’d go with am much more interesting and creative direction than just undead elves/Dark Rangers.

I haven’t lost hope, in fact, far from it. I think that the quill in the upcoming patches is a good sign, because it does mean that the design and idea of San’layn are on the minds of the devs, perhaps.
