Oh oops, you probably did I just woke up so I’m a bit off, forgive me! They don’t give the little arrows to those you respond to if they’re above you, which throws me off sometimes, hahaha.
This is such an odd “feature”. Blizz should really fix this.
There is another thread, about the new Blood Elf character customization, coming up in Shadowlands. It’s listed there, by forum-users, that the Blood Elves will be able to look like Undead Elves. I just don’t know if they’ll be Dark Ranger-based, or San’layn-based. That’s why I said it’s only a rumor, because neither type are confirmed.
The name of the thread is called New Blood Elf Customizations. Keep scrolling down, in General Discussion, until you see it.
If I were to guess, the Dark Ranger customization would be the more likely outcome since they would be easier to design and implement. I imagine it could be a way for players to have a Blood Elf Marksman Hunter with the looks and transmog of a Dark Ranger, though I know those who were wanting a Dark Ranger class might not be too thrilled with it. There is also the idea that undead Blood Elves are part of the Horde, so it is a way to represent them via player characters without making a whole new race as opposed to San’layn who have not officially joined the Horde and, in my opinion, would be different visually and culturally than Blood Elves.
However, because they are currently just rumors, we’ll have to wait and see what all these Blood Elf customization options are whenever they’re revealed. If we get general undead customization, then I wouldn’t be too worried. If they have any vampire-like customization, that might be another story. I’ll keep an open mind until I actually see what crops up in the future.
Something to keep an eye on, for sure.
I’m pretty sure both factions will get Dark Ranger customizations.
SPOILER
I saw where the forsaken night elves left Tirisfal Glades with Calia and Derek. Also, the dialogue from Velonara. I think both options are super cool and will just add more representation to the factions.
Still will go to my coffin believing San’layn deserve their own separate race and a whole slough of customization options. There’s just no way they can do the Darkfallen any justice by slapping them into the blood elf options
I dunno, it seems a bit weird to me to give the Alliance a faction of one of the Horde’s oldest and most iconic sub-groups.
Not to mention Lilian explicitly said she was recruiting Calia to lead the Forsaken, I doubt she’d do that and then Calia just immediately turns her back on them again.
Honestly, Calia leading the forsaken just seems to be the preface to giving them paladins. Horde does need another pally race.
Also, now that Syl is no longer leading the forsaken, she is definitely plausible to be the next blood queen. That way, all her fans can still side with her, and she can still be with the horde.
You mean the lady who killed Saurfang after admitting she didn’t care about the Horde then basically broke reality?
Hahahaha right? There is no way Sylvanas comes back to the Horde after that. If she does, then Blizzard’s writing will have reached an all time low.
In regards to the Dark Ranger customization, I think that person meant Undead Elves. Blood Elves will get the undead look for them, and Night Elves will get the Undead Kaldorei look we see in Darkshore.
Exactly. Thank you! Sorry for not being clear lol
#notmybloodqueen
I’m sorry fans of Sylvanas. You guys can keep her! But I’m not a fan of her as Blood Queen. The San’layn reached out to her looking for a home in 8.0 and were tossed away like garbage, used as just tools.
That’s what iit feels like. She made no effort to go aid them when she got the stupid corpse of Derek. No San’layn in their right mind should trust her after that. It was made clear that they needed a home. Were they given one at all, or even a second glance? No.
Blood Queen Lana’thel, however, is more than welcome to return. Or a new Blood King!
Hear hear! Couldn’t agree more
Blood King Kael’thas
I just had a thought. What if they gave us San’layn males and Dark Ranger females. I can see Blizz do Undead Elves that way but was wondering if the San’layn community would except that? Would that work?
I want both in-game so I would be all for it. Of course, some of the vampire names I’ve saved for when San’layn become playable are female and I don’t see them fitting Dark Rangers. I don’t think I would play a male Dark Ranger tbh and I kind of would like to make a female San’layn. But if Blizz gave us a new undead AR and the males were San’layn and the females were Dark Rangers I think I would be happy with it. Just wondering if the rest of you would be too.
San’layn and Forsaken Belves (Dark Rangers) are two separate races. I don’t see why they’d mix them, but split across genders like that. If it was one Undead Elf race that could be San’layn or Dark Ranger regardless of gender, that would be sweet.
See the outrage I’ve started, Oh Almighty, Powerful, Unholy, Blood Queen Fallynn???
She’s more likely on the Kerrigan path anyway. She’ll take some upper level goddess position, get gold wings and her old appearance or some such.
Maybe even just take the Jailer’s job…
BLEGH.
I agree, the idea of being able to be one gender either way is extremely silly to me. Especially since we’ve seen male Dark Rangers by now, and both genders of San’layn (with female San’layn being just as prominent as male).
I’d be beyond pissed if it worked out where you could only be one gender for either, not gonna lie. Probably to the point of actually leaving. I’m a lady gamer, I have male toons, but my mains are all female. I already find Final Fantasy doing their “only female rabbits and only make cats” thing to be utterly stupid.
I see no reason why San’layn would end up being a gender locked race, especially since there are both male and female San’layn in the game. Vampires are popular enough that to not include both genders would likely cheese off quite a number of people.
Making a gender locked race of any existing WoW NPC race playable likely would not end well, regardless of what race it is. Even introducing a brand new gender locked race in WoW would likely not be very well-receiving, and would likely be viewed as being lazy.
My personal opinion is that gender-locked playable races don’t really work in the context of playable WoW races, and it’s something I would prefer not to be explored in the game. As far as I understand, a lot of people aren’t too fond of it in FF14 and likely weren’t in FF11. It’s better to keep options open for those that are interested in making a specific gender of a playable race than to close off a gender for said race for reasons.
