A problem with your main point, AR aren’t exclusive to BFA.
Ion somewhat mentioned that they were. With the announcement with more customization it somewhat confirmed the matter. He mentioned that AR were themed to BFA as during the time both the Alliance and Horde needed allies to assist them with the war. If San’layn were added I could see them as a core race however. Which would still work.
The red shirt guy brought up the allied race question during the Q and A and Ion said we keep it in mind, and they never said AR go away after BFA.
Whatever the case, I wouldn’t mind getting the San’layn as allies regardless if they were AR or a core race. It has been a requested race for some time now.
delectable countess pictures.
Do you think they will expand the Allied race lists? LIke its getting full tbh.
For now, probably not, my guess is they will put san’layn as the undead allied race and the night elf worgen as the worgen allied race, That will complete the allied race for the all of the core races except for pandaren but they probably won’t have an allied race for them because they don’t like neutral races. They did also say some “friends” escaped Draneor with the Mag’har orcs so it may be a possibility that the alliance get the Saberon instead of night elf worgen.
So I like to throw questions and ideas out there in the hopes of answers and to help eliminate or conjure up new ideas. Couple questions maybe someone can answer if they know. And even if there is no lore/data to confirm/deny it I would appreciate your theories on them all the same.
- With the Lich King’s crown destroyed does he have the power to make San’layn?
I was under the impression that the crown gave the Lich King power. I also heard that Bolvar got torched by Alexstraza but don’t know what, if any, power he got from that encounter. Does it offset the crown being destroyed?
- Did the Venthyr come before the San’layn?
I know chicken or the egg, lol. I assume the Venthyr came before San’layn because I can see it being a mutation of death. Death can twist a twisted soul even more. And if that twisted soul somehow finds a way back into the realm of the living I can see it manifest itself as the blood curse.
- Is Kael’thas a vampire?
I remember him looking like Kain from Soul Reaver at one point but that doesn’t mean he is a vampire. I can however see him being the ambassador for the San’layn and he would communicate with the King or Queen. Could even be that he tries to redeem himself by helping his blood cursed kin the San’layn.
*Side note: Wowhead has this “Denathrius, foremost among the venthyr, may no longer be fit for the role”. Could Kael’thas take over and then somehow get the San’layn to join the Horde?
- Are any of the dead San’layn royalty in the Venthyr covenant?
When creatures on Azeroth, and other worlds, die they go to the Shadowlands so I’m assuming that the dead San’layn are also there. Maybe they put in motion the San’layn joining the Horde and becoming playable.
- Anima the key to San’layn?
Anima was mentioned again for the upcoming Shadowlands so I have to think it is going to be explored even more. And there are rituals the San’alyn and undead are performing with this anima. Anima appears to give life to anything, even golems. Maybe a side effect or mutation of anima entering into dead bodies is the blood curse.
Would appreciate any and all thoughts on these. If you have actual lore/data to answer them that is the best but I don’t mind theories and such either. Thanks.
Well he has the power to make DK’s and they were some of the most deadly weapons the scourge had. Can’t imagine making new San’layn would be much of a problem for him, unless it’s more of a ritual that has to be done first which could be the case.
The Shadowlands seem to be Ancient, a lot more so than most of the mortal races that live on Azeroth today. So i would say it’s a safe bet to say yes.
I don’t think he will be one when we get there, but as we do the story with the Venthyr he might become one.
I don’t know about leading them but i could see whoever it is that might be eyeing Denathrius seat using Kael (and us) in order to take control. This is when i think whoever they are will make a deal with Kael.
This is something i’ve been thinking about myself, but i don’t know what happens to undead when they die. Do they go to whatever afterlife awaits them? Or do they just get dumped in the maw?
I’m starting to think that the San’layn might have a lesser form vampirism and while they need blood to survive the Venthyr need Anima. We can see ingame that Anima is extremely powerful.
Even if you don’t use it to bring life to a golem like the Lei’shen and the blood elves do you can see it move on it’s own in throne of thunder when you fight Primordius.
Anima itself seems to be alive.
The best chance for a vampire race and your not going to play them because they aren’t pretty vampire princesses??? What are you a twilight fan?
Weak dude…
Wow, I enjoyed your answers. Got me thinking, which is a good thing. Thanks.
Since the Lich King can create DK’s and San’layn I was wondering if maybe Bolvar created more San’layn the same time he created more allied race DK’s. What they said at Blizzcon was that Bolvar was preparing in advance because he knew Sylvanas was up to something so he could’ve made San’layn and is keeping them in reserve like a good general does. And they could be revealed to us at a later time.
On the San’layn royalty being in Shadowlands. When you said not sure of what happens when undead die made me think. I now wonder if maybe when undead die their real bodies without the blood curse are in that world. Which would mean that all the San’layn are in their BE/NE skins without the fangs, wings and all. That would suck if it was like that imo.
What if anima acts like that goo in Ghostbusters 2 where your emotions affect it. By itself it is neutral without a good or evil side but when someone is in proximity to it then it can become good or evil.
I still think that we’ll repair the Helm of Domination and Restore the Lich King to seal the tear and bring the Scourge to heel, considering, we’re going to the forge that created it and Frostmourne.
You know what these forums need?
They need a “Petitions” forum that is not GD.
Makessense
I believe this is the case. When you look at the dungeon journal for the Dark Animus boss in Throne of Thunder it says this. "During his reign Lei Shen labored to build a mechanical servant that would defend his citadel without fear.
When his first attempt failed, rage took hold of the Thunder King. He poured this negative emotion into his next, and most successful creation: the Dark Animus. To this day, the ornate construct observes it’s duty, empowered by the mysterious substance at the heart of all mogu flesh-shaping experiments."
I didn’t know that but I wasn’t following everything going on either, lol. Are there any pieces of Frostmourne left to reforge it or maybe imbue the helm. I think if they imbue the helm that is just going to lead to a more powerful enemy somewhere down the line. Of course, present danger should come before unforeseen danger.
Interesting. Thanks.
Not Frostmourne, the Helm of Domination.
Excuse me? Suddenly because I have preferences you’re going to go out of your way and insult me? And imply that I like Twilight, when this entire time I’ve said I hated it? When does not looking like a Nightfallen/Nosferatu equate to ‘liking twilight’? It’s news to me that I’m immediately supposed to be in love right away with an out of the blue concept when this entire time if you’ve been paying attention I’ve been saying I’m interested in the San’layn lore in wrath, and play my characters as said San’layn.
Absolutely uncalled for. Hell, I have an entire book series of 100k+ words(in EACH BOOK), over 3 books of it currently, I’m going to work on getting published where the vampires don’t look like Nosferatu but can rend their prey limb from limb and shed blood like no tomorrow. Just because I don’t like Nosferatu doesn’t mean I like Twilight.
Also, since when is this five day old race “the best chance at a vampire race”? I’m not suddenly switching to something out of the blue after sharing my ideas for a year and a half on this subject. Blizzard can tell me no to San’layn and I’ll stop and leave, that’d be fine. But I’m not going to suddenly switch gears when shown something new and shiny, because that’s not what I’ve been either suggesting or asking for.
There’s no need to jump to insults over preferences, so weak dude right back at you. My gods.
Because they’re not pretty. Only twilight fans want anything else.
Well then you have a very narrow view of practically everything. I’m not going to insult your like for Venthyr, as much as you’re insulting how I wouldn’t play an ugly race that’s come out of the blue after vouching a year and a half for lore that’s been established already since wrath for San’layn. Apparently we’re not allowed to have preferences.
Like I said in a post before, feel free to go start your own Venthyr thread on this matter. Because sitting here and being insulting, along with saying nonsensical things like that, is going to get you nowhere.
Like I said, uncalled for. Shaking my head.
Also, the actors in Twilight look a bit less appealing than Nosferatu themselves, so. That’s a silly equivalent.
