San’layn/vampyr Elf ALLIED RACE Coagulated Megathread of Ideas{Re-VAMPed} (Part 1)

Just me again with another thread bump

(It’s Sil, but this is my priest :slightly_smiling_face:)

#KeepTheDreamAlive #Sanlayn

Also, I’m secretly hoping both factions get a vampire race. I’ve been thinking, and honestly, the Venthyr open up the possibility

Venthyr could go alliance (since they seem to be human, maybe they’re not?), and San’layn go horde since they are blood elves

Idk, just a thought, but it would allow each side their own undead/vampire race, without anyone feeling left out

Venthyr are definetly not human lol, none of the races in shadowlands are dead souls from Azeroth, Idk who started this theory but they are independent races of their own not races of dead souls.

They’re still more human like then elves. And the alliance will be working directly with them, whereas sanlayn have always been an enemy of the alliance

I really don’t care what they are, I just think their whole aesthetic and over all theme looks amazing, and I really want to play one :weary:

They will be working with both the factions, the san layn make sense because they are the allied race for the undead, Alliance is probaby gonna get a worgen modeled allied race.

They have little pointy ears though. That seems Elf-like to me!

Same! I haven’t wanted a race this bad since Vulpera. And now with Vulpera actually becoming a thing, I NEED to have a Venthyr! :vampire:

I can’t wait to reenact my favorite cutscene by popping out of nowhere and draining the life from a gnome only to disappear again.

Same. I don’t even care what faction they go to, I just want them! :weary:

People can feel free to make a Vethyr thread if they want, I’m sure it’ll get tons of support. Me, however, I’m not really interested in them, to be honest, and wouldn’t roll them. Still, if you guys have feedback and suggestions for Venthyr, I’m sure Blizzard would like it organized on a specific thread for them rather than one for San’layn, which are different entirely. They’d have to scroll through quite a bit of suggestions and idea for San’layn specifically for Venthyr stuff, meanwhile a fresh thread for Venthyr themselves would have all the ideas there without San’layn ‘clutter’.

That’s one hell of an assumption there.
High elves have gotten an absolute no from the devs. That’s N and O, that two letter word that’s saying that something is not something they are willing and/or able to do (willing in this case)
San’layn have gotten… no answer whatsoever. Which makes them infinitely more likely at this point than high elves. And while I wouldn’t mind seeing high elves, it’s hard to be sympathetic to a group that has members that yell “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA GIVE US HIGH ELVES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” in every single thread in the forums regardless of how relevant it is to the topic that’s being discussed.
I mean, you could take it to your megathread, your replacement megathread, or one of the 27635 high elf threads that crop up rather than drag it into other threads.

I think that’s premature anyway. I think venthyr look great but I’m also of the opinion where I don’t know enough about them to rationalize them joining either faction. It doesn’t seem like any of the Shadowlands denizens would have any personal interest in fighting mortal wars on Azeroth. I’d much rather the venthyr inspire some designs for san’layn, considering the fact that san’layn still remain the most logical vampiric race to join the Horde. I’d much rather not just forget about them.

Perhaps the venthyr can be to the san’layn what the vrykul are to the humans; interesting lore figures that allow for deeper exploration into the ancestry of playable races, but who are not themselves playable.

You’re right. And I’m going to stand by saying that I think that San’layn would make an awesome Allied Race. I’m sincerely hoping they make it that way, and am happy for those that support Venthyr as well. But, as for me? My support is here for a San’layn Allied Race, and I think the ideas shared in this thread can make it work.

We very well could get both of them, too. But we don’t even know of the Venthyr can leave the Shadowlands. And yeah, I’m thinking Venthyr might be the source of the Blood Curse. Never know!

I said before I’d settle for customization, but I feel as though San’layn are unique enough to be an Allied Race and I’m sticking to that. Venthyr might be as well, but that doesn’t shove San’layn aside by any means. I don’t want to hang my head at this new news and say ‘oh, well we might as well switch to customization now’. That’s what I was doing before, but no more.

We shall see what Blizzard decides. And Kael’thas being with this vampire faction is very interesting as well, out of all the bosses they could have picked, it was him. I can’t wait to see what they have in store.

Considering we have about roughly a year before the expansion launches, it is a bit premature to think about the covenants if they are playable race material.

It’s a possibility that some could be allied races, but it’s also a possibility that none of them will. With Kael’thas with the Venthyr, it could even be that the Venthyr rep is the rep tied to San’layn if they become an allied race. The point is that we have no idea what is going on until we actually log into the game and see for ourselves what Blizzard is doing with the covenants.

Regardless, there have been good ideas shown in this megathread, and we should continue to do so in order to show support for San’layn. If anything, a lot of popular requests have gotten into the game eventually, like Mag’har Orcs and Dark Iron Dwarves. Even boneless Forsaken options, something asked for quite awhile, recently got in. You never know what Blizzard is paying attention to in terms of requests, even if it takes awhile, so the best thing to do is to continue showing support for races people want.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to form my Horde Triforce of Hope.

I’d bet money that it is. Apparently Maldraxxus is filled with Scourge architecture. You know how acolytes could summon in buildings from WC3? Well the lore seems to be that they were literally plucking them from the Shadowlands. Makes you wonder what else might have been taken from there, eh?

I also still can’t get over the fact that we’re going to be meeting Kael’thas. The devs have told us about the characters we’re meeting, but they haven’t shown us what they look like now. They’re being a bit coy there. I’d wager they’ve gone through some pretty significant transformations due to their lofty stations in their respective covenants, and if Kael’thas borrows even a tiny bit from the venthyr… and then, say, came back with us to teach the wayward and leaderless San’layn what he learned…

Well.

The possibilities are endless there.

Just realized if that is the case the the Venthyr might somehow use the blood curse to give us access to the San’ Layn and the Night fae being the opposite of the emerald dream might give us night elf worgen.

San’layn have actually been my most wanted playable race for a year or two now. I’ve been hoping they’d make it into the game in some form, especially due to a concept I saw of them alongside High Elves with racial options and whatnot.

Unfortunately I don’t see them coming any time soon, but… Hey, maybe DKs will have red/green eyes added as customization options, so Velf/Belf DKs can be a little more believable as them.

I feel like they wouldn’t put San’Layn into BFA for no reason and then add a vampire covenant just to mock the players, I feel like San’Layn are more probable now then ever before, probably not in the start of the Faction but mayben 9.2-9.3

I like the idea here, but they don’t have to have the Night Fae to give us Night Elf Worgen, those already exist on Azeroth.

And we have Vassandra Stormclaw the druid who helped the Gilneans now in Duskwood helping those Worgen, who are primarily Night Elf Worgen.

I know but they can probably strew a story together with the Night fae and their connection with the Night elf worgen from the emerald dream to give the alliance the allied race.

Yeah since there’s no Allied Races for 9.0 (they’d have announced them by now), anything like San’layn and company wouldn’t be added for a long while. I think the devs also said no to any sort of 8.3.5 patch (Source? I just heard it, I don’t think I have a source but could have sworn I saw it on WoWhead).

Vulpera were spotted as a BfA race when it was announced, and we only just got a confirm on them. How many years has it been for them? Quite a while, and we saw player animations appearing on them early. We haven’t even seen any sort of updated San’layn model at all, so I’m assuming they’d have a very long way to go. Otherwise, one would think Dreven would be updated for the 8.0 campaign.

Before I say anything, This is just my opinion on the matter.

Possible Solution to AR dilemma:
With AR being exclusive to BFA only and most of the blood princes dead, I could see Venthyr being the solution to replacing San’layn. I mean aesthetically they are somewhat themed as vampires and from the feature trailer alone we saw them dabble in blood magic. It wouldn’t be far off beside their origins being “souls” from the shadowlands and not sin’dorei turned undead. With Kael’thas making a comeback, we could see him be somewhat of the bridge to convincing them to assist the horde. We know that Revendreth is essentially the land where souls go to repent, so that could lead to him redeeming himself. Other besides that, they have everything essential for a playable race.

Bolvar Solution:
Since we know that Bolvar will be bolstering his army with new recruits(AR), we could see him create a new council of blood princes. The question of why he would is open for discussion. (I mean, why not, from the looks of it he could use all the help he could get right now. From the Ebon Knights helping him and the horsemen coming to his call, I don’t see why Blizz wouldn’t bring San’layn into this.)
