Can someone inform me exactly why alliance will quit if same faction bgs are implemented? It literally does not change anything for their que times and I don’t see what problems it implements for alliance?
Somehow them not being the only one with instant queues, plus Horde players winning AV after starting at Dun Baldar is “unfair”.
Honestly the whole thing is just spiteful ignorance. They hate Horde players and want to see them punished and be made to suffer for some reason.
The claim is that a large number of alliance made that decision based on faster que times. I have hard time believing that lol. That gear just isn’t good enough.
I’ve been making that decision for at least 10 years now. I play this game for BGs, I value my time, why wouldn’t I pick the fastest queues every single time? It’s a no-brainer. Also I’m fine with same faction queues. During the test my ally queues were either the same or faster. Plus I got to do one AvA wsg which was cool.
I’ve heard a lot of people make that claim. I guess i was just too far out of the loop to hear anything about that. I leveled a horde character because that’s what I played on retail. All problems have to have a conspiracy theory though i guess?
I don’t know man. I think people knew that horde would have longer ques due to the population imbalance, but I don’t think anyone was expecting 90 minute times. I think some of this is faction animosity somehow bleeding into real life. Some people legitimately hate the opposite faction. They forget that it’s all part of a badly written story lol.
I mean i just didn’t know a thing about the imbalance. I leveled a classic toon to mid-40s and abandoned him until I heard TBC was coming back. I was going to play horde regardless because i simply prefer it. Knowing there would be longer queues wouldn’t have affected my decision. Of course I would have assumed a solution to the terrible queues would be found by now.
I certainly agree it’s gotten out of hand. It seems like a lot of people feel entitled to have shorter queues. If its inherently been an alliance thing i never knew that and i played ally from TBC until 1/3 the way through BFA
Actually they got worse from the point when HvH was added. They went from instant to 1 to 5 min.
I know for a fact, I play both factions.
As for why Alliance are quitting, it’s not just the HVH thing, I feel like it’s a whole bunch of reasons and HvH is just an easy target.
In truth the problems this game has are driven by a short list of things.
- Server Transfers
- CRBG
- Mega Servers & Layers
Eliminate theses and WoW will absolutely be excellent again, tho blizzard would need to actually break up the mega servers offering guild transfers/ faction transfers to places selected by them (NOT THE PLAYERS) so that the servers are better distributed.
100% of the issues are created by crowding and exploitation that makes the game less fun. Killing the root of the problems is the real solution.
Instead of balancing the factions for quick queue times by allowing free one time faction changes from horde to alliance, blizzard decided to just eliminate the alliance entirely.
It’s just insulting and a huge bandaid fix to a larger problem. But it’s blizzard they are notorious for their bad decision making.
I think they’ve already confirmed that same faction BG’s are coming back, or at least for additional testing. I don’t think they anticipated all the complaining, so I’m sure that’s slowing things down a bit.
They’ve tried these things before. Horde players don’t want to play as alliance, just as alliance players don’t want to play as horde. As long as horde makes significantly faster and better progress in all areas of the game, they’re always going to be the more dominant faction. Alliance has been a hard sell for years.
You can’t be for sure that this would fix anything. Same faction bgs however are a proven fix and instant.
Blizz can’t fix the problem with alliance because the problem has always been players with poor attitudes like yours.
I hope so but i’m skeptical. Unless i see something specific I’m assuming the worst
The problem is faction balance on PvP servers. I think I’ve come to realize that the core problem is PvP servers. Many people just followed streamers, guides and friends and rolled on a PvP server. Many people don’t want to be prevented from doing open world content. Many people, like myself, would be much happier on normal servers. Faction balance matters much much less on a normal server. I think about half of the people on PvP servers would be much much happier on a normal server. If I was still on a PvP server, I would be worried about faction balance and thus opposed to same faction BGs. Now that I’m on a normal sever, I don’t care because it really doesn’t affect me.
Sure they can. Just give alliance a 20% health/damage/healing buff in any pvp content and see how the balance changes. If you think people will stick to horde, you’re living in la la land.
Didn’t they get something like that with war mode in retail?
That’s beyond a cop-out to think faction have their own personalities it’s far out there to say the least, blizzard as a company made a chain of mistakes which lead to the imbalance.
I think it’s almost certainly coming back. They just can’t let these kinds of que times continue. They’ll never get any better otherwise.
PvP queues are the only thing that has ever balanced the factions. The only reason we have single-faction servers is because of cross-realm battlegrounds. Without CRBG’s there would never have been a Skeram or a Heartseeker or a Stalagg or an Incendius, etc. The only reason they could pile onto the same server was because there was no downside to it. They got their cake and ate it too.
With same-faction battlegrounds you can have an entire game of only one faction, and again with absolutely no downsides. In fact, if we were all the same faction, it would mean more people to do quests and dungeons with, more stuff in the auction house, etc.
Why would anyone choose alliance at this point? At least in vanilla the horde pvp racials were counterbalanced by the PvE advantage of alliance. But in TBC, horde are better at everything.
