Safest way to find out if WoWCE Vanilla code is valid

Hi guys, I recently cleaned out a closet of mine and found an old WoW Collectors Edition box. I totally forgot I even had a box in there, it has been opened but I am certain I didn’t use the key. As I already have the pets from a previous collectors box. I’m stumped as to how this went unnoticed for all this time.

If the key is valid I want to sell the box. Of course I can’t in good conscience rightly sell the CE without being certain it is valid. So finally to my question, what is the safest way to find out if it’s valid… without of course trying to use it myself haha. Thanks guys

Your WoW 1 has all CEs back to Mists, Maximom. WoW 2 - which is inactive , as far as it was upgraded also had CEs. I cannot tell you if it may have been used somewhere else, or if one of these upgrades may have been from that. Billing might be able to assist.

Might give Live Chat a go once they open.

Trying to ‘use’ it on these likely wouldn’t work, because the licenses are upgraded, not necessarily because that key has been used.

That make sense?

Thanks for the prompt reply! Yea I was mainly asking what is the safest way to find out the key is valid. I’d hate to give the key over and then activate it. So I’m safe to give the key to a live message blizzard rep? Or is there some way I can input the key myself without actually activating it? If that makes sense

I would still chat with billing on checking that key. They will be the only individuals that can help you.
