S4 M0 brick wall intentional?

Does anyone know if Blizzard Dev Team intended to move away from smooth progression from Heroic dungeons to M0 and low-level M+? It’s like hitting a brick wall to go from Heroics and Time Walks to M0. So, what’s Blizzard’s motive in removing smooth transitions from Heroics to low-keys?

You should be adequately geared to tackle M0 in full heroic dungeon gear. If you’re struggling that’d be what we’d call in the business a skill issue.

You didn’t address my original question; was it Blizzard Dev Team’s intention to remove smooth progression from Heroics into low-key M+? If so, why make it harder for casual players to get into M+?

I wouldn’t say it’s a brick wall. It is a bit of an incline though.

I’ve taken my evoker that was in s3 PVP gear, which is an atrocious PVE ilvl, and got gear through LFR/Heroics/Weekly caches. I’ve been able to do m0 and +2 just fine.

M0 just requires a bit of effort, don’t be discouraged by wipes, stay persistent and you’ll learn the fights. If you find your team mates lagging on objectives, be sure to politely remind them what the mechanics are, encourage them. And if you find your team simply cannot do the dungeon, it is okay to politely leave and form a new group.

Enough people argued that the only reason they were not engaging with dungeons beyond queued heroics was because of the timer. An alternative floated was “What if instead of a timer, dungeons just hit harder?” So Blizz listened, this is the first draft.

I jumped straight into +2s, they’re definitely harder, and some just plain suck (Nokhud) but I mean, if M0 is basically a M+2 without the timer, it sounds exactly like what people were asking for.

The casual struggling with current m0, were they doing previous season’s m+10? If not, that might be the problem.

I wouldn’t call it ‘smooth’ before, more like so gradual that for a lot of the M+ crowd the low level stuff was largely pointless and completely skipped over. Now even M0 has more of a purpose. Right now it’s just an adjustment period for everyone who was used to the old structure.

Are you saying since M0 are better than low-key M+ (presumably because all the bosses drop loot), then it’s ok to make them harder to transition from Heroics to M0? But didn’t every boss in S3 M0 also dropped loot…?

I’m currently running some 10’s, anyone who gears up in heroic, LFR, world content gear and bullions and cannot do an M0 as you say, needs to learn to play.

No Qaccy, the lower keys (up to 10) were fun and easier for PUGs.

Exactly. I hadn’t done any m0 outside of first 2 weeks for past 4 expansions (outside of weekly), and this one I had a reason to.

It isn’t difficult to transition. All one has to do is pay ATTENTION to the mechanics, and play your class to a modicum of its potential.

Even pugs generally weren’t hanging out that low, because LFR and weekly world stuff got you enough gear that you went immediately into double digit keys. M0 was especially irrelevant because the gear wasn’t good and it has a weekly lockout.

If you follow the proper steps, it’s still a smooth transition into lower mythics

Based on their article they put out about the info of what to expect with the dungeon changes, yes it was intentional. The issue is communication in-game. There was none about these changes.

The problem is heroics are currently very easy even if the group is barely heroic dungeon ready. There’s no mythic dungeon mechanics either, so not only are you getting this huge jump in scaling damage/health of enemies from what used to be an m0 to m10, but also a new mechanic on top of it. There is no smooth transition.

It is very much a learn to play issue but most people dont want to learn to play because all expansion and past 3 seasons m0’s have been fairly easy in comparison to +2’s. And the people who were doing low keys or m0’s are now feeling like heroic dungeons are too easy and m0’s are too hard, there’s no in between for them. So right now you have a bit of a player base split because m0 expectations have not been set in-game, and the people who are in the know outside of in-game know what to expect and those who aren’t in the know outside of in-game are being flattened and don’t know why other than new season, game too hard, maybe bugged?

It was a poor decision to do this not at the beginning of tww.

I think the point is to do a mix of Heroic dungeons and weekly outdoors quests to fill up the gaps in Ilvl. Then Upgrade that gear.
