These two things are not the same. A challenge mode set from 5 expansions ago and the elite set from the same expansion we’re current in they held a vote for and did not provide clarity on are completely different. Not to mention, that is literally all we’re asking for, a response like that clarifying their stance and why PVP was excluded from voting.
So, the Season 3 set shouldn’t be able to be earned either… You just lost. They brought back season 3’s set for another season. That was the old season set, otherwise we would still be in Season 3 for PvP. We are not.
It’s pretty insulting to not only get really no balance changes, no stam buffs reverted, but also not get the sets people voted for.
S4 just came out and it’s already a mess(so much bugs), blizz just threw that poll at us and expected everyone to understand what was happening without any useful information, i wouldn’t be surprised if blizz ignored everyone asking about previous elite sets, the same way they’ve ignored persons asking about recolors since the poll was first placed
I don’t understand why people think that Blizzard is their equivalent of a ‘god,’ ‘government authority,’ etc. that everything that has happened or hasn’t is because of Blizzard’s ‘divine intervention.’
Oh they haven’t responded? ‘It is Blizzard’s will for us to know what they mean and if you question that divination, then you are not a part of the true religion that is WoW’
These are just regular people that mess up and forget (or ignore)…Also the same company who decided to bring TCG content when people thought THOSE items were never coming back…
Being contrarian towards many people that have a similar take on this issue isnt a flex …
I’m cool with elite sets not coming back. Never have, never will.
But Blizzard could really do better with explaining when we were voting. The way I saw it: “New season 4 is coming back with previous DF Sets, go and vote for yours now!”. (jokes on me)
Exactly. There was zero fine print and the vote was simply mentioned for S4 appearances, which did nor specify encompassing just S4 PVE or S4 PVP. It was S4 voting in general.
This is the first time Blizzard has ever done this for a season with the appearance voting via the community. It is a unique situation with no precedence.
From this thread alone, misalignment within the community is very indicative. A Blue post or response somewhere would settle things.
It’s funny because I’ve gotten the paladin elite set for 3 seasons in a row, and I feel that paladin was much, much easier to get during S1 and S2 than during S3.
It feels very unfair for players who already got S3 sets for warriors, warlocks, priests, paladins, monks, druids, hunters and evokers to not get a chance to earn the winners of these polls, but it gives the people like me who didn’t play these classes a chance to earn S3 sets again.
I already got DH and DK last season, so at least I know I could work on rogue, shaman, and mage and know 100% I will get the right reward.
At this point we need to know which is the way they intend it, I would really hate to begin working on my warrior for the Season 3 set, and them then tell us the reward is what we voted for, which means I would receive the set I already earned in S2.
What I can say from this, I was hoping every vote winner would get a new recolor unique to this patch given that most people also got their desired sets in previous patches.
I keep up with my blue posts and I don’t recall reading anything that has ever clarified that tier sets designs are exclusive for PvE, even though that distinction can make sense.
But I do remember seeing in previews of tier sets from patch reveals PvP tints are included in the hype.
This was a screenshot taken from the 10.1 reveal to hype up tier sets. Notably, the Warlock set pictured is the Elite PvP appearance.
And this was taken from the 10.2 reveal about tier sets. The Elite PvP appearance was used to preview the Priest set.
So is it unreasonable that, as an engaged player of this game who follows patch reveals from Blizzard directly and Wowhead guide writers, I would assume PvP tints are included when discussing tier sets? And that I shouldn’t be upset when the expected results of a community vote are upended?
