Absolutely. Same as all recent enchants, really. The necrolord enchant looks like hot trash in screenshots, but is super eye-grabbing in-game because it pulses so rapidly.
The utterly low resolution of the texture and the way the black areas look like an improperly built shader, though, is concerning from a “caring about art” standpoint.
Did they fire the guys that knew how to design enchants, structurally, in layers?
Or maybe its less buzz word bs and simply just better weapon models vs crappy weapon models?

Not really, no. I’m discussing why a screenshot doesn’t convey the animations of it fully while expressing disapproval of it.
Some zoomers that weren’t party to the convo and haven’t read the thread (lmao, one of them didnt know someone else posted screencaps after me) got corraled together in discord to come raid the thread and put me in my place and report me for being an outrageously rude individual or something is all.
General Discussion bled over into Arena because someone over there referenced this thread when Krad asked about the enchant. GD posters take insults like “go reroll boomkin and cry in Ashran” very personally, even if it’s not directed at them.
Arguing about the actual enchant would be way more fun. I want more theories on how the WoW art team forgot to use shaders on weapon enchants in the last 3 years. There’s more to this story than who was mean on the forums and I crave that lore.
Damn it managed to make that sword look even worse lol, appreciate the higher image quality though.

Yeah, the underlying reflective texture of that sword is unironically higher resolution than the enchant particles seem to be, so it’s startlingly effective at making the blade look…dirtier and less sharp in a still image, lol.
So is the running joke to make each enchant look worse than the last?
