Rune of Fallen Crusader Change

Alright, to start off currently 3/29/2020 Rune of the Fallen Crusader allows for attacks to have a chance at restoring 6% hp and granting 15% strength for 15 seconds. However, for the lore reasons and for the agency of the DK class I think this should be chanced to a flat permanent 5%-ish leech stat with the chance of granting 15% strength for 15 seconds.

Here is why-

-The 6% heal of Rune of the Fallen Crusader feels pointless and random
how it this supposed to help me? It could proc at 100% or at 5% hp, just seems poorly implemented.
-A flat 5% leech increase won’t break the game, DH has a talent that grants 10% out of demon form and a total of 45% in demon form

  • The purpose of this heal is to grant a small amount of health during the encounter correct? By implementing a small amount of leech that will be more predictable vs a random chance.
  • This chance would significantly help Frost Dks, as they can take benefit from 2 runes, in PVP Frost has seen better days, I believe this would be 1 step in helping them out
  • This change would fit perfectly within the lore of a DK

What are your thoughts?

From Blood DK perspective: 6% max health heal is stronger than 6% leech… (Blood dps is so low) also Fallen Crusader counts as a heal spell which can proc on heal ability Az traits and trinkets.

All for rune changes, but this would be a nerf to your tanking Brothers and Sisters.

Fair point, but if I’m not mistaken doesn’t blood use stoneskin garyole?

O heck no. Stoneskin gargoyle is so far behind performance compared to Fallen Crusader. Dps wise for threat, 6% max health heal is pretty large.

Stoneskin armor is to low to be impactful :frowning: The only place this rune would work well is when Blood could DW tank (… lol, with 1 fallen and 1 stoneskin).

Don’t get me wrong, I am sure maybe Stoneskin could help with Sk’shuul Vaz.

Just to clarify this point, Stoneskin has always been a two-handed exclusive enchant. There was a one-handed variant of it that halved the effect, so as to net the same total when dual-wielding.

Correct, thanks for the point out.

I don’t think anyone gets fallen crusader for the 6% heal. It’s that 15% str buff and even blood makes more use from the 15% str buff than just more damage. It also increases parry chance and apparently increases the armor value marrowrend provides.

Also, in terms of frost pvp, just looking at what some people say, it’s damage sucks and to those people the leech will be a nerf. I do know that this isn’t the case just lazily reading through Flarks pvp guide.

If you have trouble staying alive in pve then the heal is the least of your worries. Unless it’s unavoidable damage people should be minimizing the damage that they take.

Maybe Stoneskin is in need of a buff?

edit-

What if Frost was changed to have more stuff
ex. Frost Strike gives small dmg shield and obliterate has a small execute mechanic

Yeah let’s also just remove all healing from deathstrike while we are at it.

I don’t know about your logs, but Unholy Strength is 5% - 6% of my healing.(About 5.xm) That is a top 6 healing source.

Part of the reason I feel Frost does little dmg in pvp is due to having to choose either death strike or frost strike, and since u take lots of dmg pvp so I do think it needs a survival boost or dmg

I really dont understand the point of your response to my post.

I said people dont pick up Fallen Crusader for the heal but the 15% str buff. Said that leech would be a nerf to dk survivability if in fact dk pvp damage is low. And if you have trouble staying alive in pvp then the heal is the least of your worries meaning that you should probably be trying to do mechanics properly unless its just unavoidable damage.

If Stoneskin actually did what the tooltip said, then it would be way too good. It says it increases armor by 5% and all stats by 5% but it doesnt actually increase all stats by 5%.

It could actually just read “Increases all primary stats by 5%” or “Increases all attributes by 5%” since primary stats and armor is listed under Attributes on your character info page.

The 15% str buff plays well with just too many things. Icy Citadel, Pillar of Frost, On use str trinkets, str procs on ability use trinkets and probably some things im just completely forgetting about. Stoneskin just doesnt compare even for tanks since it provides even more than just a damage boost.

This would be a massive nerf across the board.

Leech is a pretty bad stat on everything but healers and dps that can stack a large amount of it.

boi Dancing Steel+Fallen Crusader.
Gargoyle has always been doodoo :stuck_out_tongue:

Does stoneskin gargoyle stack?

Not for nothing, I think all non-healing character needs to have their healing looked at. There’s already too much passive healing in this game.

While true, Blood DK from specs perspective is a selfish healer. While I am tanking (getting my face smashed) I am in essence “Healing myself” to save my life.

This is a good thing btw. If I wanted to play sword n board or stack mitigation, I would play as a different class tank spec. This healing is what makes Blood a unique tank. The day this is removed is the day Frost should of been the Tanking spec with its Armor and Barriers XD

Dancing steel was fun, I also enjoyed Blade Ward and Blood Draining (So glad Strength of the Warden is a thing).

giving dk 5% passive leech is a really bad idea.
