I do agree with your perspective!! Although I love the idea of being able to group on these low level quests because of the lines and being crowded to kill one specific quest mob, I used to skip on those quests… So I’m not sure how to make them both work, but staying alive is challenging already, eventually you will make one stupid mistake that will end in your death, maybe on a raid, or a dungeon, or even being greedy! I do think people will be really greedy and end up dead, even in groups.

Its not OP. Its a 5min cooldown shared cooldown with other spells and lasts for 12 seconds. I will not play on the hardcore realms now. Ill play hard-core on existing vanilla realms. Idiots
Loving the way you’re approaching this and only applying basic and sensible changes and restrictions. If the community wants more restrictions like we have today then let’s leave that for the community rules and addon. Not everyone including myself enjoy all the community made rules.

Not an issue. This is vanilla not retail. Removing vanilla spells from a class makes the server not vanilla.

but it is like this already on the HC addon lol, and you can still bubble, you just can’t bubble + hearth.

I dont use addons. Addons in general is a form of cheating. Ill use stock UI and play hardcore my own way because screw other people. Fyi, hardcore is a solo adventure.lol.

Not reading all the comments - but it seriously needs the complete removal of the AH as well as trading and the mail system.
The solo/duo/trio grouping was a really nice unique niche that should be added

Hardcore servers are not “vanilla”. This is an adaptation.

Its notan issue at all. You are overexaggerating things. Hardcore is a bastardization of vanilla. Just like tbc classic is a bastardization of OG TBC. To be fair, i do know others consider classic vanilla a monstrosity compared to the OG but I never played wow in 2004. I wouldnt know.

I can see grouping playing a huge part in getting more people overall to level cap, but I also think it can make for some even scarier moments as groups tend to get too overconfident and lose several members. The challenge with grouping over trading is grouping is direct engagement with people i.e. friends, in your area and that doesn’t leave room for disgusting botters, whereas trading swings the door wiiiiide open AND waters down the challenge of getting to 60 at the same time

Vanish is often times resisted as is Hunter’s Feign Death.
It isn’t a stupid change. Nor is it a vanilla server, it’s a new game-mode.

These changes will go a long way towards giving hardcore players what they want, but if your goal is to completely resurrect classic, then you might want to go all the way.
90% of players play hardcore by using the hardcore addon. To replicate this, you should add feats of strength such as “no trading” and “no grouping” as these are fundamental to the community.

I guess some (not all) of them can be. IK you made a generalization, but I’d like point out there are some (not all) addons that are strictly cosmetic like Adapt (3D Portraits). Not even Retail can get with 3D Portraits, so I STILL use this addon for BOTH games
