Rules for thee but not for me?

I saw Soda didnt even get a ban for buying gold, so i figured why would I right? Well, I got banned. I’ll take the L

Now I do have to ask, why ban me for buying gold but not Soda? I guess being a rich white guy and a popular streamer truly does make you untouchable.

Idk who this Soda is but uh… idk what to say here.

Dont buy gold.

We don’t have all of the details here, but this isn’t something CS can do anything about.

I figured at most they would remove the gold, since thats what they did to the rich white guy.

But it appears blizzard has the freedom to pick favorites.

I’m not asking to be unbanned, I’ll take the L. Although CUSTOMER SERVICE should be able to answer as to why they would ban me for buying honestly a tiny amount of gold compared to what the rich white guy had bought.

Sodapoppin got his gold removed, but received no suspension. That is literal favoritism. Blue post response below is hypocritical to say the least.

This is NOT Customer Service.

If you want to appeal, then you can do that through the email that was sent. Otherwise, this isn’t a forum for accusations and complaints.

This is Customer Support, not Customer Service. It’s a peer to peer help desk with assistance from SFAs.

If the customer support team can’t assist in answering a simple ToS favoritism question, what good are they to us anyway?

This is the long and short of the story; buying gold is against the rules, regardless of the amount brought. End of story, don’t get $200, close the book on this.

This is a player support forum and just… /facepalm

Peer to peer help desk is players. Support Forum Agents aren’t GMs. We’re here to help with things like where to go to file tickets, which ticket categories are best and help with quest issues and the like.

No one here can or will ever answer such a question. Nor should they ever have to.

They’re pretty good at taking action when people are trolling.

What they’re not going to do is discuss account actions that happened to someone else’s account (assuming it was even real).

No one has attacked you. We gave you information on the purpose of this forum and told you that you aren’t entitled to an answer to a question concerning someone else’s account.

The problem with your view from the outside, Bho, is that it is extremely limited and not privy to all the relevant facts so you assume nothing punitive happened.

To be clear, no one is exempt from penalty within our games. It is important to remember that the penalty for violating policy depends entirely on account history and the infraction involved.

As we do not disclose information about another player’s account, we will not be disclosing what actions were taken against another. The only thing we can say is that appropriate actions have been taken based on our policies, with regard only to those policies and having nothing to do with who may be registered to an account. There is no favoritism involved there.

Edit:

You don’t appear to have been “banned” by the way. Your account was suspended. Once that suspension expires you’ll have access to the WoW license account, sans the purchased gold.
