You will be ahead of the graphics curve for the next 4-5 if you buy a 5090. It’s complete overkill for a game like WoW, but I’m not going to tell you no.

You can play WoW with a GTX 970, probably a 770 still. Unless Blizzard upgrades the engine like 3x the 5090 would die first before it would be unable to run the game lol.

I’d rather have the latest AMD card.
HD is old now, FHD is ok, QHD is great, UHD is more than good enough, FUHD is overkill.
If you buy this card you’ll probably have to upgrade your entire rig lol. Monitor included. If you have the funds for that, go ahead. But I doubt you’d ask this in the first place if you had it like that.
If literally all you play is WoW, I wouldn’t. If the performance uplift is something like what the 4090 showed, I might upgrade myself though.

i dont think graphics card upgrades lock you out of playing with others in multiplayer games though
bruh imagine if you could only queue with other GPUs that match your corpo. AMD with AMD only, Nvidia with Nvidia only…
im not asking for wow to become requiring a 5090 for 2.5k to even launch

The monitor is 4 grand and the 5090 is estimated at 2k and it’s IPS at 60 hz. The 5090 is the tail wagging the dog.
LG has an 8k oled panel and Samsung has an 8k qled. I wouldn’t say 8k is ready for prime time yet. You’d be bleeding edge imo.
Ive only got like a 3060 and mine does just fine. well, except when the game or my internet is screwing up for some reason
