Since they updated RTX Shadows and some new DX12 tech I think the RTX requirement was added. But you can 100% play WoW without RTX Shadows.
Yep, and since all zones have baked ray-trace shadows (Including since Classic btw) - the difference between the high version of RTX shadows / reflections isnāt much at all. The game is still traditionally made for screenspace / normal GPU and CPU setups.
That said I run the game at max with RTX shadows, it looks very nice on my 32:9 - but you really donāt have to. The only differences Iāve managed to really get are likeā¦ Crisper shadows, and character shadows I guess?

Yeah you need more AI in your graphics card to play WoW, like 500 gajillion gamerflops worth of AI, just pack those babies in
