RSS Balancing

I’m in RSS Queue for the last 1.5 hours. So I’ve had a lot to think about.

I was in a game last night and it was Arms Warrior (myself), Unholy DK, BM Hunter, Frost Mage, Resto Sham and Evoker around 1800 MMR.

Games were super balanced. Every round was a sweat fest. It was actually pretty fun. No 4 Melee lobby zug zug.

My proposal is to have role queue for RSS: Melee / Caster / Healer. Feel like those games will be the most balanced out of them all. Instead of all melee lobbies. Even as melee I don’t find those fun at all.

I support that being the default composition the game tries to put together.

IMO the problem is solo shuffle is 6 rounds. The first two define who is the weakest link, more often than not.

Not meaning to say melee are busted, but they clearly have an easier time setting up burst and maintaining pressure. In RSS it is hard to peel without coordination, especially when you get into comps that share DR with your class. So, of course, dps converging on the “weak link” target is what often happens. It is just more blatant with 2x zug zug because of simple, upfront and high melee pressure coupled with many gap closers.

IMO RSS should have been 3vs3 skirmish but rated. One round only, and you’re out of the arena. Queues would have been faster as well, I assume. Of course, you’d get the oddball prot paladin comp, but at least it’d be for a game only instead of six.

I’ve been saying the same thing since this came out. I play a mage and a DH. Mage is no fun because of the melee zug. Just focused everytime and if they have a decent healer camping you for interrupts its just impossible when you dont have a good team…which is most of the time. I will say tho, its just as irritating to be on my demon hunter and have 3 casters… Literally just sit in roots/ccs half or more of every round. The melee zug zug is more common but when its 1 melee vs 2 casters and a healer with roots/cc it can be just as frustrating. I absolutely agree with the comp layout and hope they implement it. It may also get some healers back into the ques, but i feel like it might also add to the already ridiculous que times.
