When Classic Wow first launched there was a discussion on the forum about introducing an RPPVP server. Blizzard granted us this in Vanilla Classic. Currently there is only 1 RPPVP server that exists for classic TBC/WOTLK and it is currently locked. I would like for this thread to serve as a petition for opening a second RPPVP server or unlocking the current one.

I support an East Coast RPVP server. It was actually a hard fought battle to get Grobbulus in Classic. I remember they didn’t budge til about a week before name reservations and the grobb community went crazy over it. There was even a CGI fan made trailer for the Grobbulus announcement haha

As someone originally from Deviate Delight, now on Grobb, I’d be very happy to take a free transfer from Grobb if we got DD back, or even just a way to encourage people who aren’t here because its an RP server to free transfer

I never played on DD, but I was sorry to see it shut down.
It’s been frustrating not being able to get into the sole RP-PVP server, people will comment that if you weren’t already there then you weren’t really going to play there, but some of us are only getting into the game for Wrath Classic. I’ve been enjoying my time split between Bloodsail and Maladath but I’m waiting for a chance to roll my faction war motivated RP chars on Grob. They really should have a second server available since somehow, RP-PVP is insanely popular in Classic it seems.

Deviate Delight died a slow painful death, mostly because people kept transferring off bit by bit.
This very rogue was a delightful deviant once but I got auto moved to Sulfuras.
We have to ask ourselves, why would Grobb/other servers want to transfer to this new RPPVP server? What does it offer that Deviate Delight couldn’t during it’s time?

I would support this. I was a native DDer before the server died. Altho I don’t think we need 2 rppvp servers either. Rather have free transfers from Grobb to this new rppvp server and then relabel Grobb as pvp and not rppvp as thats all it really is now with all these non rp compliant transfers.

One of the fresh servers should have been an east RPPVP server, and they all should have been launched a few weeks earlier imo

I remember when Gob launched, some of the players tried to police the non rp names. In a way it was the only true PVP server, until wrath, now we have Sulfuras and 2 fresh servers which have wpvp, for the time being.
Is there any chatter about an RPPVP EST server anymore?
Played DD in classic loved it! Then had life changes so couldn’t play TBC. Came back for WotLk to find DD was gone and there was no available rppvp option available let alone on in my preferred time zone. Would love to see one added.
I don’t think you can have a functional RPPVP server when Blizzard is completely uninvolved in Classic overall. At the beginning, there was enforcement of the little-known name policy… You can read it here: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/135764
World of Warcraft Role Play (RP) realms are intended to provide players with an added level of immersion in the game world and must avoid being disruptive to the world. Examples of common unacceptable or disruptive RP names include (but are not limited to)
- Non-medieval or non-fantasy names (For example: Slipnslide, Robotman, Discoinferno)
?* Names that reference well known people, characters, brands, places, or icons (For example: Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork)- Names that consist of multiple words (For example: Inyourface, Welovebeef, Howareyou, Sixtyseventy)
Supporting basic immersion and community attitudes is day 0 business, but those times have gone. Prolonged transfers from PVP servers following the pilgrim’s path to the promised land of 50:50 turned Grobbulus into something else. There are still interesting RP guilds, but they are few and far between and the culture is overall stunted compared to what WoW RP could be/used to be.
There was a large thread on the Grobbulus forums where the general consensus was that the RP demographic on the server wouldn’t leave to BSB because they didn’t want to forsake WPVP. It probably just isn’t worth it for the players or for the company… Enjoy living in WoW Classic’s NYC in the meantime.
Just one extra RPPvP server, that’s all we need Blizzard. I will gladly move my rogue off Grobbulus if she had another server to move to
