I’m new to WRA and last time I’ve been in RP environment was around 10 years ago.
So in short - nostalgia consumed me and I want to RP once again.
The question is in the title: is RP still a thing? Do people RP much nowadays?

Lots of rp still around here, especially on Hordeside. The Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar is the place to go if you want to try walk up rp. Alliance side is a bit quieter but you can usually find a handful of people hanging out in Stormwind. Both factions also have plenty of guilds to join if you’re looking for a more plot focused rp experience.

The Wolfmane Tribe is pretty cool, if youre wanting something Tauren themed. They accept almost all characters, including non-Tauren.

RP is solidly undead.
RP is still going on, but it really depends on how much effort you put in to find and engage with it.

Welcome back to WoW RP!
Sarestha beat me to the punch, but yeah. Check out the Valley of Honor and follow the forums, Discords for public events. If you want a consistent stream of RP, a guild is your best bet. Not your only bet, as there’s still an ongoing server campaign: Year of the Scourge! There’s an event tonight, in fact!
Also, a bunch of guilds are getting together this Sunday to answer questions/recruit!
And if you’ve been away for years, you need to get on Discord. It’s where so much happens these days- at least in terms of advertising, organizing, and just keeping up with what’s going on. There’s a bunch, and none of them are official. Some are open to all, others are more invite only. You just kind of have to spend time around to find them all.

Try to ignore anyone trying to deter you from enjoying RP. The world still needs good and wonderful people and so does Azeroth! Horde still has many people dedicated to RP. While it might be a little sparse now, keep an eye out for a good guild you can trust or join some community discords to keep up on events or check these forums! Every Monday at 5 server the Wolfmane tripe RP in Thunder Bluff and they have a story circle in Bloodhoof Village every Sunday!
And some add-ons I recommend are of course TRP3, but also Listener! Listener has a function called ‘Snooper’ that keeps track of everything one player said…so it gets rid of the need to ask for reposts. Extremely handy when you are anxious and are in a crowd!! Don’t forget to pick up some Elixir of Tongues from a vendor down in the Legion Dalaran sewers. This potion was added during BFA and it allows for cross-faction communication. So no worries now about RPing a tense Horde and Alliance military agreement or undercover crossfaction rescue…we can now correctly communicate with the other faction like how we always see portrayed!
