Once we get the server names, and if there is no RP-PvP server, we’ll vote for one of the PvP server names and just promote that one to the community.
Thing is… Blizzard said they will add servers within a day or two after launch if the demand warrants it. Might have to nimbly move to an RP-PvP server a couple of days after launch in that case.

the NA servers are now in either Chicago or California. thats it
there used to be more locations, but it changed to just those two at some point

It would really irk me if they release the RP-PvP server a couple days after launch tbh. But I can see that as a distinct possibility. xD

I mean if its 2-3 days after launch I expect to be at least 25-35… thats a grind i would rather not redo so quick.

Oh wow…you’re a fast leveler.
I’m not planning to resub until layering is gone so it’s not an issue for me. I would assume if they are going to create an rppvp server then it would be available by then.

Not so much fast, as i plan to devote a fair (read:large) chunk of time those days. I am actually a slow leveler. Classic is what I have wanted since… well TBC ended. I’m really debating extending my vacation time.

I don’t RP but I’m on what used to be a RPPVP realm. The WPVP is much more active on servers like these which is why I’m attracted to them.

It is kind of silly not to include one on launch. It’s not like regular players can’t roll on it.

I just don’t understand what the big deal is. Will they have so few servers that it’s going to be an issue? The current rp-pvp servers are high pop. I play on Emerald Dream and there are tons of RP guilds and PVP. Surely a single rp-pvp server isn’t a big deal.
I watched some of Ions videos before he became a dev and his response, and I get the sense that the rp in mmorp or even the mmo part isn’t something he really understands. It seems like he mostly likes the actual game play of min/maxing for PvE and playing it as a chess game. If they want Classic to succeed they need to understand that it fundamentally has rp in it’s DNA that has been expunged by the other xpacs, and that the enjoyment that many of us get from the game is being a part of Azeroth, not maxing our rotations and finding dungeon shortcuts.

RP-PVP realms have historically had some of the best faction ratios. In general, RP realms favor Alliance and PvP favors Horde which balances out well for RP-PVP. Honestly it’s one of the compelling reasons to play one aside from the mature community and more immersive options.

We need to be a bit clearer people - in 2005 we demanded RP-PvP realms. Here we are debating weather or not they should add them.
The debate is over – It is very very clear,Classic is looking to be an incredible success for Blizzard. We NEED a BLUE POST.
If all 4 realm types are not added at launch – the ‘too niche’ community will be further splintered.
Hey, Ion…RPvP servers house probably your most loyal subscription base. We play here to relive the good days of wow. The complete version of the game can only ever be experienced on an RPvP server.
We demand ALL 4 VANILLA REALM TYPES at launch!

Consider also that forum posters are less than 5% of the actual community…there’s more than plenty of us to populate several servers.

I second this. A portion of the anti streamer crowd will roll on it as it will be almost guaranteed large stream free.
