Stuck at Portland Oregon Airport so I won’t get home until after 11 tonight or later to see if I can get my names. But my brother in law (BIL) and I are excited to join. Waiting to see if CBH is in onboard before I decide. He’s a rogue regardless and I’m something depending on them and that poster.
That post about one”s rule set for our server really irks me. Whatever faction he’s on I might role play his assassin along with my BIL. Going to post late.

Thanks, probably one of my favorite names… I stole it from UO. Orcs would spawn with random names. Just such a fitting name for an Orc.

I too stole from UO when choosing Deceit as a name! (Remember how the dungeons were names after anti-virtues)
Sadly it was a backup, I couldn’t get into Grob in time to get my original name from way back.

At least you got a name you wanted. Bummer it couldn’t be first choice. I read Deceit and didn’t even think of UO… Man that game had some killer dungeons.

Started scrolling through this as I just reserved a name on the server, and I must say there seems to be a divide between those who are welcoming to non-RPers. Let me start off by saying that my first 60 in vanilla was on an RP-PvP server. I myself didn’t do very much, though I was in Heavenly which was a female only toon guild at one point that did RP, but I find that the atmosphere is much more fitting to the play style that I seek in general. It’s very annoying for me personally to see and read “ur” and all of the other junk that people commonly text, and I personally like typing properly (I can’t spell so well, though.) On that note I was a human paladin so it was easy to just be a normal “person.” My collection of dresses on her is pretty extensive nowadays, though.
Just wanted to weigh in, as a not-so-often RPer and someone who really loves the server archetype, don’t bash those who wish to embrace the server type simply because they are not partaking. As long as they aren’t grieving, does it really matter?

I really hope people are welcoming of those who don’t RP. I am a new RP’r myself. I first dabbled with it on a UO pserver many years ago. Have always wanted to but just didn’t feel it was right. WoW classic is the perfect time for it. I even convinced many people who don’t RP to join me on Grobbulus. Will be pretty sad if they are shunned cause they don’t partake.

The elitists rp’ers who are likely to shun non-roleplayers will be the minority. They will be low to mid level and never venture outside settlements where they might be in danger.
You will probably never notice that you are being shunned.
There is really only one rule that you should live by, and that is to not do anything that would ruin immersion for others. Other than that, just be a decent human being. You won’t have any problems.
