Lol what a prize you are. Point made. Here is yet another person that is ill informed on how immersion works and what a rp server is all about and is diminishing something that was requested by many others and is important to them. We were given 2 servers. How many other servers are there?

Report them. Get your fellow rpers to report them as well. That’s probably all you can do.

hello fun police, my characters are actually roleplaying that they are breaking the 4th wall, so my characters are fully aware they are in a virtual videogame world which is why they picked goofy names for some of them

I was never big on RP servers. But I can respect the rules and atmosphere that of it.
u gotta on that next level S.Poster to actually make a toon in an RP server to mess with people.

Im on Grobbulus. Im not worried about my name because I have an explanation on it being a nickname if it comes to that.
The biggest reason im not worried? I don’t bother anyone RPing, and if someone approaches me IC, I participate.
Play the server how its intended and everyone is happy, even if your name isn’t 100% RP

I’m only on the server because the BG forum clan decided on it. I’m east coast so I don’t even belong on a PST server but oh well. I just didn’t know RP servers had rules like that.
Just report them. I’m sure it’ll take about a month for Blizzard to actually get to it, but they do take it seriously and do force characters to rename themselves… and if they get reported twice on the same character, then Blizzard just pushes the “autoname” button, generating and locking in a randomly generated name for the character. I’ve seen it done before on Retail.
Im with you on the bad RP character names, but you need to also realize that guild names do not fall under the RP naming umbrella.
Ya but that was long before the SJWs took over, now you can’t call someone an A-hole or Dik without it being sexual harrament. Sorry call “They” a name

ED and WrA took a long while, years, to settle in.
Grob/DD has a massive purge ahead of them to filter the nonRP crowd.
You didn’t ask, but here is my advice, FWIW:
I split my server attention and rolled alts on Grob DD and BBucc, and from what I can see, the PvE RP server is by far more consistent in policy than Grob/DD. Its plain cozier over there. DD seems to share Grobs concerns on the RP front but is also clamoring a bit to establish itself out of fear of being merged down the line.
I expect a ton of drama from the RP-PvP servers in the first month concerning the DD-Grob cataclysm/merger pontificating, and the general phenomenon of people expecting rp-pvp to somehow be nicer, less cringy, and less ganky.
Its pvp. I played Archimonde in vanilla, day one. PvP will involve tears, rp or not, and the popularity of wpvp will flame like it did last time. Its inevitable. Enjoy the forums free of pvp balancing while it lasts before the exodus to other games, retail, or classic pve servers.
So, Ill dabble in Grob, with lower expectations, and hope I’m wrong in thinking it will take a long time to settle in to be a more ideal wpvp rp experience akin to retail as it is today.
In the meantime I see BBucc becoming my home once all the launch fever subsides.
Happy RP to you, and hopefully you can find a way to filter the non RP noise until things settle in.
Until then: pvp will happen on a pvp server, and you’ll see names like Nuckchorris, Leewoy, Biguzdiguz, Stabzies, Unicornpuff, Yoremom, Codebrown, Igmeatpinkdawg, Eatmorgnomez etc despite ticketing them 24-7. Honestly, save your efforts for people who could use somebody cool to RP with.

Just to be clear, NO rp’r on an rp pvP server expects the the server to be pve.
PVP is exactly what we asked for and we received Gromm and DD.
Thats not the problem, this is the problem,
along with those that disrupt and mock those acting out rp. The ignorant innuendos and shaming are so cliche.
Still, your entire post is encouraging and time will tell.
